Jonathan Strange from Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, and not just because I totally pictured him as Damian Lewis while reading. Damian Lewis? Oh hell, I am off to my library now. Any Damo visual works for me.

Heathcliff? Me, too, although I prefer him before he left and came back all vengeful and evil.
I also have a literary crush on Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre. Even though he's described as ugly, I imagine him a bit cuter. I kinda think there may have been a dark, brooding stud hanging around the Bronte's neighbourhood, don't ya think?

I've sorta od'd on F. Paul Wilson's Repairman Jack series. I absolutely love Jack. He's odd, kick ass, collects stuff, and will take every "fix-it" personally.

I think I'd go with Joe from the Stephanie Plum books. He totally adores her, and he's got that whole macho protective thing going that I can't help thinking is really sweet! And he's willing to put up with almost anythings she wants.

I just mentioned this in the Harry Potter thread, but I have a book crush on Sirius Black, and was always hoping that he'd somehow find a nice witch (or Muggle, I guess it didn't matter), settle down, and live happily ever after. Same goes for Lupin.
I also crushed on Nick from "The Handmaid's Tale"

Howl from Howl's Moving Castle - it's been a long and abiding relationship between us. He's just so flawed and in need of saving.

Back when I read The Westing Game, I had a big crush on Theo. Why Theo? He seemed the most neglected amid all the other characters that lived in the building. Ah, hell, I can't really explain it, I was 13.
Also around that age, I crushed on the oldest brother in the Dicey's Song series, was his name James? The book Sons from Afar was really great in that regard, heh.
Moving on, I also developed the seemingly-obligatory crush on Heathcliff. Don't care what you say, that guy is magnetic and hot! Speaking of evil crushes, I also had a fascination with Iago from Othello and was extremely disappointed that Kenneth Branaugh played him in the movie. Nothing against Mr. Branaugh, I'd just hoped for somebody more sex-on-wheels, like Joaquin Phoenix.
And finally, the obligatory Harry Potter crush: Lupin, totally! I can kinda see where the crushes on Harry come from but I ended up feeling downright maternal towards him in the fourth book.

Can't believe I've forgotten how in love I was with Matt McKendrick from The Truth Trap books--my crush on him provided me with many wonderful hours of daydreams during boring classes in high school...which is why I still don't know more than the basics of geometry today (well, that and the fact that mathematics aren't really my strong point).
I can understand the attraction of Howl, but I didn't have a crush on him--just on the whole romance between him and Sophie. Very, very sweet. Diana Wynne Jones does know how to develop appealing characters--I kind of liked Cat when I first read Charmed Life. (I never was quite sure how old he was though, which detracted a bit from it. I'm guessing he was supposed to be around 11, and Gwendolen 12).
I kind of liked Theo from The Westing Game, too Mutagen, but no raging crush.
I'm just now reading the Echo Company Series about Vietnam by Zack Emerson, aka Ellen Emerson White, and rereading its companion novel The Road Home which I highly recommend by the way, and am so crushing on the character of Mike. Even though I'm 28!

Ah, so I'm working on a paper on the Betsy-Tacy series, and I gotta ressurect this thread to mention Joe Willard. He's just awesome... even with the moustache.

I loved the fact that Joe was crazy about Betsy, even though she wasn't the prettiest girl in her Crowd and he was the hunk of their class.
