Agh, the ghostwriters. I know the books were coming out every month, so it would have been impossible for Ann M. to be writing them all, but she couldn't have written maybe two a year or something? Laziness.

Stacy thought she had lyme disease in the Camp Mohawk super special. But she had impetigo surrounded by mosquito bites or something instead. I was about 23-24 when I bought all the friends forever, california diaries, old BSC's, SVH, SVU, and even some SVTwins. I boxed them up when I got married and put them in storage but these threads have me internally screaming to go rip open those boxes. But since we're moving in 5 or 6 months, I'll just wait and have that be my welcome to our new home present to myself.

I wonder if this series will ever have a revival, BSC: The Next Generation or something. It would be pretty easy to update the characters, or even have Karen and some of the young charges take over. I think it will be interesting to see what new trends happen in YA fiction now that HP us coming to an end.

That's a great idea, pomegranate. I don't enjoy the BSC books as much as I used to (which one might expect, because I am, after all, 29 years old, but I love SVH and SVT as much as I ever did), but a revival with Karen and other kids, like Charlotte and the younger Pike girls, would be fun. I wouldn't buy them, but I would check them out from the library.

Well they do have the graphic novels now and maybe they are waiting to see what the response is before they try to relaunch the series. I don't know if I'd want them too, I think to make the book successful the publishers would be tempted to make the books edgy by adding sex or drinking or something. I kinda like that the BSCers are all innocent and don't do more than kiss their boyfriends no matter how many months they have been dating.

The good thing about updating these books would be that I'm quite certain they would take out all that LAME made-up slang ("dibble" "gigundo" etc).
But no, I don't want to read an update that's been made racy. I do not want Claudia's diary enteries to be all, "Todae my boyfrend wunted to tousch my boobys".

Hee! And agreed. That would be seriously creepy.
If they write more books about the younger girls, can someone please slap Karen? Please? Or at least make her use some contractions? Her speech always sounded so stilted and formal coming from a six (seven?) year old.

Yeah, really. And all the little house/big house crap? Made me want to smack her.

Or maybe they've aged in real-time (yeah, right) and with so many aging parents needing care, they band together and form the Senior-Sitters' Club, with Elder-Kits full of Depends and large-print Oprah books and oldies compilations.
Kristy and the Aquarobics Championship Mary Anne's Wicked Trophy Stepmother Claudia and the Veteran Stacy and the Little Blue Pills Dawn's Fiber Feud Mallory Hates Boys (and Bedpans) Jessi and the Social Security Mystery Senior-Sitters' Florida Adventure Quebec City, Here We Come to Buy Medicine!

If anyone is interested I have a LOT of mysteries (including all 4 Super Mysteries) available for sale and also the entire 15 book California Diaries & 11 book Friends Forever series. All come from a non-smoking home and I've kept them in oversized plastic storage boxes in the air-conditioned guest room for the past few years. They are in excellent shape but I'm just running out of space and have no need for them anymore. I also have some Little Sisters but I don't think there are too many fans of that series in here :-) Anyway if you are interested in any please PM me, I thought I'd try here before posting a listing on Ebay.
