Searched if a thread existed, but couldn't find it. Anyways, anyone else think EW has improved this past year? There was a period of time when EW was losing my interest, but I think the content has had a bit of an upswing. Only exception is the TV section--bring back Ken Tucker!
Any guesses as to who will be EW's 12 Entertainers of the Year? My guesses (predictions, not my personal preferences):
1) Mariah Carey (big comeback, big cd sales, huge single, still crazy)
2) George Clooney (two movies, huge director, bigger actor, biggest political activist)
3) Terrance Howard (tons of movies, lots of acclaim)
4) JK Rowling (huge book and movie sales, but is "been there, done that"?)
5) The Dramas or One-hour Long Shows of ABC: Lost, Desperate Housewives, Gray's Anatomy, Extreme Makeover, Commander-in-Chief, Dancing With the Stars, Alias (they did this with the women of the WB and the HBO shows, and I think they could do that here)
6) The People Behind March of the Penguins (the quirky choice)
7) Steven Spielberg (two movies, one critically acclaimed, the other a big movie smash despite the presence of CTC)
8) Dakota Fanning (biggest actress of the year)
9) Kelly Clarkson or Kanye West (Kelly for her CD sales and newfound respect, but Kanye made the most controversial statement of the year and has pretty good CD sales)
10) Dane Cook (another quirky choice)
11) Daniel Craig (big movie with lots of acclaim and new James Bond; the "Clive Owen" slot)
12) Chris Rock (controversial Oscar host, big hit movie, and small hit tv show).
