Beyle, I am 100% certain you are both fine quality individuals who have both represented your hometown well. We found in one box with 7 and a half issues with Ms. Crawford(found the 'Introducing! The Geres! issue.) Claudia is represented on 8 issues and even found a Carrie Otis, she was stunning. Sadly, Naomi only has two issues by herself the rest are group shots and I am still hoping to find a Christy issue. Surprised to find Niki Taylor issues, she didn't strike me as a Vogue cover girl. Also found the Madonna issue from 1992. Thanks for indulging me everyone!

Cindy visits (or used to visit) DeKalb. I know she's gone to class reunions. I think she brought Gere along to one when they were married. I remember hearing about a Cindy/Richard Jewel (grocery store) sighting. She was one of the big donors for the new library. Her name one of several on the main lobby wall. From what I can tell, she's always spoken well of DeKalb (probably better than I would...lol). Family stories: The Crawfords live behind my paternal grandparents. They were always trying to get their attention (and that of my aunt). Cindy's mom, Jennifer, was always asking my grandmother if my aunt could babysit the kids, but my grandmother wouldn't allow it. Who knows why? I don't there was anything wrong with their family. 🤷🏻♀️ My mom used to play cards with Cindy's mom and a handful of other women. I don't my mom asked about the kids or anything. Sorry, no dirt on that end. One of my cousins was a freshman when Cindy was in her senior year. She doesn't have many stories except that, at that point, Cindy was in Chicago often for modeling and therefore, wasn't in school much.

I lived for the inch-thick spring and fall issues. Oh my gosh, the September Vogue! I was young when I used to buy that, these days I'd throw my back out lifting the thing.

Nah, it’s VERY thin these days, even the September issue.

Can we talk about the horrendous September issue cover? Why? The copy on the cover calling them, 'The Greatest of All Time', and AND IS THE COVER YOU COME UP WITH!! Apparently Edward Enniful styled it and if true, I truly CANNOT understand the thinking here. It looks like an homage to a Jackie Collins/Shirley Conran novel.. Good. Gawd..

So who are the four? I recognize Julia Roberts, but not the other three. Which I guess is the problem! Is this the cover with the supermodels of the 90s? If so, it’s Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, and Cindy Crawford. Cindy doesn’t look like Cindy, IMO. So I suspect she did some tweaking before the photo shoot. Or it could be the heavily madeup eyes. She looks more like herself when I zoom in. Naomi’s cheekbones look intense. Linda is still my favorite.

This article pretty much sums up my view. I'm happy to see older models, but prefer they not be made over to look like they're still in their 20s or 30s. I've seen recent photos of Cindy Crawford where she looks her age. Linda Evangelista hasn't looked like the woman on the cover for years, since her foray into CoolSculpting gone awry. If we're all about body positivity these days, it shouldn't be limited to a person's size. Women should be allowed to age naturally and still be considered beautiful. Do Supermodels Age, or Just Get Airbrushed?
