He made up Czernobog/Bieblebog? Wow, that's pretty cool. Well, the reason I think the forgetable god is an actual god from mythology is because someone asked him not to reveal his identity, because they were really close to figuring out who it was. Neil said he wouldn't out of respect for that person's request. If he had made up the god, I don't think that would have happened. But then, I guess the character could be based on or an amalgamation of several dieties. Who knows? (Other than Neil, I mean. ) Edited because Holy run-on sentence, Batman!

Yep. Someone asked him (in his blog) who his favourite gods were, and he mentioned that they were some of his favourites and he'd made them up.
I didn't realise Neil had implied that it was someone real. That is interesting. I have to read that book again, I can't even remember the character for some reason.
Maybe it WAS a real god and now he is preventing me from remembering him.
I need Fragile Things right now.

I loved Good Omens, the book he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett.

I finally read his Sandman graphic novels last year. They were wonderful.

Neil will be giving a talk in NY next month in honor of Sandman's twentieth (!) anniversary.

Ergaster, it's already out. I bought it last week. It has more of a feel that it was written for a teen audience, but it's still quite a good story. The illustrations are very subtle, but good for the mood of the book.

Thanks Ripley! Boy, I really am out of the loop, aren't I? Bad fan!
"written for a teen audience," you say? So, kind of like a more mature Coraline?

According to the Amazon page, its intended audience is 9-12 years old. So I guess it's the same age group as Coraline.
