A warning (for those of us in Australia at least) - I bought mine and it got up to 47% installed on my laptop (which has both original and University comfortably installed on it) before freezing and not installing any further. So I returned it, and got it exchanged, and the exchange copy is doing the exact same thing. There may be a general problem with it.

Or maybe I'm just doubly unlucky.

It's really a kick in the teeth, because I preordered it and have been looking forward to it to spice up the previous two for some time now.

Well I got and installed mine today and it works perfectly (I'm in Canada).

And it's pretty cool, so far - I really like it! I first took my party girls Patsy and Edina down to LuLu's Lounge. I love the cars! The new clothes and decoration items are a bit scary, but interesting. I haven't met any vampires yet, but my Sims have developed a liking for poker. (That gypsy woman is kinda creepy, though.)

The "vampiric" (or goth) furniture and house stuff is great. Too bad I had already built my Buffy neighborhood in Strangetown!

Has anyone read about the new expansion pack open for business? We finally get elevators. I can't wait till it comes out, I think I'm make a bakery of florist shop.

Does anyone know a site where I could find period (eras, dammit, not that kind of period) downloads of objects, clothings, etc.? I googled but I can't find any that are by era, or that even have old stuff. I remember back with Sims 1 I found a site for Roman Sims and more, but I can't find then now and I can't find anything for Sims 2.

It's probably just as well. Once I start playing I get sucked in and even personal hygiene and feeding myself goes out the window.

All About Style[/color] is my favorite period site for Sims 2. I think they will have exactly what you are looking for.

You can go to sims2day for lots of objects. And you can go to sims2homedesign to download homes. Sorry I'm not good at doing links.

I just got Sims1, and the cheat box won't show up. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

sims 1 cheat box should be alt+ctrl+shift+C all at the same time i belive. but it has been a while.

If that doesn't work, try ctrl+shift+C.

I have a Sims old school problem. I got the expansion collection 3, with Superstar and Vacation. So I uninstalled (not without some Makin' Magic uninstall problems, grrr) all my previous expansions, and reinstalled all that I have, in order like I am supposed to. It loads to the neighborhood screen, and then comes up with a box that says the superstars are getting out of their limos (or something like that. This makes me think it might be a Superstar problem?) and tries to load. It doesn't make it. It kicks me out of the game. It has done this repeatedly. I have not tried uninstalling/reinstalling again, just in case it is something I can fix without doing that. All the help I have found is for the game crashing just after the splash screen(the screen that comes up when you start the game, not autoplay). Mine makes it past that. So, sorry for the long message, but I am bummed. I don't want to have wasted my money!

You can also try Simfreaks. They have stuff for SIMS 1 and 2. There's some Romance and Egyptian stuff. They have some freebies but it's mostly a pay site.

Sportula, have you tried checking out the official website? I haven't played Original Recipe Sims in a while, but I remember they often had patches you could download which would solve some problems.
