Yeah, I think my crash was related to either the lot I was on (it's a big one) or my custom content. Or maybe just my computer. It IS evil, after all.
Circuit City has Freetime on sale this week for about 18 bucks, so if anyone's thinking about getting it, that's a good price.

I'm having a problem with my Pets. For some reason some of the pets won't sleep in their beds. I can't figure out why. The family I'm playing now has one dog and four pet beds (all four are different) but he'd rather sleep on the floor. I have another family and their dog sleeps in the bed just fine, but the cat won't.

Sorry, Nadia, I don't have the Pets EP. I'm just starting to fiddle around with FreeTime, and... eek. Most of my Valley Sims want to become World Class Ballet Dancers! Even my Alex Mahone. (Oh God, there goes Prison Break - Season 4.)

I like Free Time the clothes are mostly cute and I love the new hobby objects (the sewing machine looks just like a real life one my gran owns) but the constant pop ups and visits about hobbies were starting to drive me crazy (hugs MATY hacks folder.) Casino Bride - this site has a predestined hobby adjuster in case you don't want quite as many ballerinas. ETA when you get there it's under sims 2 > objects > other objects.

THAT'S what I have to do! I'm sick of the hobby visits and pop-ups (seriously, do the people at EA ever test these things for more than five minutes? I don't see how anyone wouldn't find that incredibly annoying). I didn't know Pescado had fixed that little issue; off to MATY I go!

But surely that's a good thing? If I didn't get phonecalls from random strangers every five minutes to remind me what I'm interested in, I'd have no hobbies. I would just sit around on the sofa all day, gazing vacantly into space.
Thank goodness for Pescado's hacks.

I got it on Saturday and played for a few hours on Sunday to kind of get the feel of it. I played one of my peripheral Veronaville families (Bianca Monty and Kent Capp) just to try it out. Bianca is all about Arts and Crafts, it was rather handy she went to the easel to work on a painting she had already started and BOOM! Arts and Crafts enthusiasm! That's the one she was predestined for anyway so it all worked out.
MATY also has a hack to keep Mr. Humble from showing up and leaving the new computer in your house. The Humble computer is a buyable object with this hack and I can see how his arrival at every stinking family's house that you play at would get old REAL fast.
Bianca and Kent got engaged and had a little boy (Lucentio); their dog Athena got two promotions in the show-biz pet career track; Kent got demoted and then promoted again and in between all of that they still had time to get invited to the local hideouts for their hobbies of distinction... Bianca the aforementioned Arts & Crafts hideyhole and Kent, though he's particularly interested in cuisine, managed to get to the Science center. Kent is a logic sim who wants to become a Mad Scientist so he was working on that.
Oh and aside from all of that, Kent managed to set himself on fire while making pork chops. Athena barked like mad to alert Bianca who was outside painting. Bianca did finally come in to extinguish Kent but he died and she had to battle Death to save him. Which she did! Go Bianca!
I also discovered that the Toy Bench works to improve your Arts and Crafts abilities. I'm presuming that the Robotics bench works for Science. The Flower Bench... Nature? Not certain of that one. I'll have to try it out.
The aspiration points are interesting though I haven't played with them much. I was waiting for Kent to show the desire for meeting aliens before I had him actually summon them but he never got that desire. Maybe another time.
Still, it looks like an interesting addendum thus far.

In the core game, how do you get aliens to appear? My knowledge sims will the desire but I'm not sure how to fulfill it.
