By using the more expensive telescope at night. It's really quite random, though. My last Sim to get abducted was Nina Caliente. Before that, I think I only had Darren Dreamer and the Curious brothers.

Yeah, it's random and I think the percentage is fairly low, too. I downloaded a hack that increased the percentage the longer the Sim was out there at night but even then it took a good long while before any of my Sims were abducted.

The exceptions are the Pascal Brothers. I think they're coded to have a very high chance of getting abducted.

Plus, the telescope hack that I downloaded seems to conflict with Free Time. I was having difficulties with my Sims using telescopes when I played yesterday. They could ooh and ah over them but when they tried to use them, they'd jump back and the action would be gone.

So... I'll be removing that hack and seeing if it makes a difference.

My knowledge sim wants to see ghosts, how can I make that happen? I made one of them go to the cemetary in Nightlife, but no ghosts appeared.

By the way, what happens if a sim gets abducted?

Sims can only see ghosts if they're near a headstone. usually when it gets dark, the ghosts come out. Maybe it depends on the ghosts. All the ones at the Specter house in Strangetown are pretty active.

Abduction-If women get abducted they come back rubbing their butts and will talk about it for a few days. The men come back pregnant. You're more likely to get abducted between 7 and 2 am.

You ever get the really bitchy wants like your Sim wanting to see the ghost of someone who annoys them? I had a parent and child not getting along and the child rolled the want the next day to see his mother's ghost.

Seeing ghosts is sometimes tricky. They need to be on a lot where there are headstones and they need to be there at night. I've had sims stationed in the graveyard that don't see ghosts and then I've had sims that seem to see through the back of their own head to see a ghost.

And then there are the ghosts who scare sims... that helps them be seen.

The weird thing is that my Nina Caliente was pregnant and pretty much about to give birth when she got abducted. I really wish female Sims could have alien babies too. Not fair!

It usually happens to me when a Sim gets robbed. They want to see the thief's ghost.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I'm going to have to try again to make my sim see those ghosts. Do ghosts only appear if no one else is around or does it matter if there's a crowd?

I think they pretty much appear whenever they feel like it. Although it might have something to do with the Sims' mood? Like, if they're not feeling too great, they're more likely to get visited by ghosts - I've kinda noticed that, but maybe I'm wrong.

The ghosts have personalities, too. Darlene Dreamer was a family sim so, yeah, her spirit is enraged if her husband marries. I've heard some people move the Dreamers out and move someone else in and she haunts the crap out of them, too.

In Veronaville, both the Capp and the Monty estates have ghosts that like to roam around. In Pleasantview, Dina Caliente's previous husband enjoys scaring the crap out of any new moved in suitors she may have. And depending on how they died is sometimes a factor. Sims who drowned or died in fires or something have a tendency to be a lot angrier than those who passed due to old age.

I had a pregnant Sim who died and she haunted her husband constantly. She even came out during daylight hours, but still fairly early like 8 am. All she did was pace the hallway. Eventually I just sold her urn because she was driving him crazy.
