Yeah, my response was, "That looks like pretty normal stuff to me." I don't read RPF but I like crossovers when they're well done.

I'm reading a Transformers fanfic now on Archive of Our Own where the giant robots use young human male slaves to satisfy their oily, NR-17, lusts. If this sounds utterly ridiculous, it is, and the author(s) present it all with a straight face which may be intentional, or not; but the poker-faced tone and technospeak just adds to the fun even though I'm not a fan.

Resurrecting this thread to see if anyone can remember a great Calvin and Hobbes fanfic about Calvin and Susie. They’re older teens, still living next door to each other. Calvin is still a little trouble and I think had a thing for fire. Susie is still a good student. IRC, she’s able to calm him down and he is in the habit of crawling into her window at night. There’s a scene where Susie’s house catches on fire. It was really wonderful. I think it was on LiveJournal, but I don’t know where I might find it. ETA: Found it! It migrated from LJ to AOO. Still made me cry.

Hey everyone, just a heads up that rumors are swirling about the longevity of FF.Net. Not sure if there's any veracity to the rumor but figured it wouldn't hurt to drop a message in here so that people could retrive old works/beloved old fics in case it does go down.

Good to know! If anyone is looking for a way to download stuff to your ereader fast, then try FicHub. It's free and turns them into Epubs, MOBI, PDF, or Zipped HTML.

Thanks for the link! My fics are all off FFN but that could be useful for downloading some old favorites.

Wow, ff.net has been around forever. I tend to stick to AO3/AOOO but it'll be sad if it goes.
One thing I really like about AO3 is the filters you can use. It's a pity they can't set one for bad porn, although that seems to cover about half the fics posted.

You mean you don't enjoy stumbling across bad porn in its typically untagged form? I can't blame you.
