Winnie the Pooh slash? No. That's just so wrong.
And I thought Kirby (infamous nintendo pink blob character) slash was weird.

As wierd and horrible as this sound, I have concedered doing a crossover fic. (I would have if I were more focused) It was tonge in cheek, but still.

This is, I suppose, a variation on real person slash: historical slash. I'm not horrified, but it's a little unsettling seeing great figures in history slashed, like Civil War generals or the founding fathers.

I read a TNG story once where Capt. Picard time-transports back to the garden of Gethsemene, and has sex with Jesus before he's arrested. No kidding. Oh my god. I think my kidney just burst because I was laughing so hard at this. What is the thought process there? Are you watching Trek one day and going "You know who Picard needs to have sex with? The Son of Man." I know that sounds snarky, but I'm just honestly puzzled by that pairing... in some ways, this is the joy of fanfiction, to see how radically different other people's interpretations of TV/books/movies are. As for slash -- here's a straight female who loves it. My feeling is that when you have a heterosexual love scene, you're always putting yourself in the shoes of one of the participants... and often unconsciously bringing along your own baggage, personality, etc. When it's two people who are not your gender, that baggage goes away and it's just sex. Which isn't to say there isn't hetero stuff I like to read as well, but I'd imagine the standards are different. Real People fic scares me. Again, no offense, because I've certainly had elaborate fantasies about real people, but I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to write them down and publish them. Not saying other people can't, that's just too big a chasm for me to jump. Because I kind of feel like if somebody wrote a Real Person fic about me, I'd be incredibly freaked out.

Honestly I think many of the writers do the unusual pairings for the challenge of it, and perhaps to get online attention or accolades from their fellow ficcer's (or tweak noses in general)... though this isn't to say one can't also get into the 'hotness' of it.

Not only is there biblical slash, but there's even a livejournal group dedicated to it! I've always found real person fic to be very much not my thing, but compared to some of the really weird shit out there, it's totally pedestrian. For those who like a good trainwreck, I recommend this site. It's basically a community of fanfic readers who post links to really really awful fanfic and art (and links to good writing as well) and comment on them. I sometimes think the reviewers are a bit harsh-- I can't really hate on a 12 year-old Japanese girl who can barely speak English but feels the need to write a Harry Potter/Ghostbusters crossover fic, but some of the linked stories and fan art are good for a laugh. It might just be me though. Spectacularly bad writing brings a smile to my face, I don't know why.

That's the wonderful thing about fanfic. Everyone feels they can participate on an even, supportive playing field, so they do.
The rampant snarkiness is fairly recent within the fanfic world (within 7 - 8 years, for something that's been around for at least 30.) It coincided with the rise of snarkiness on the internet in general, around the time Television without Pity and similar media sites were founded.

I felt like a recently struck a blow in my latest fic for writing hetero sex. Between a married couple. And it also wasn't hottt sex, it was mourning, needy, emotional sex (I wanted to respresent in fic that people have sex for all sorts of reasons, not always just because their cooter is itchin' or that they finally caught that alien).

Someone posted a link to a new CTWS forum in the C'est Fubar topic. There's a fanfiction section. And someone took it upon themselves to post erotic fanfiction. *vomit*
