ETA that I have just discovered that there are people who write Marvin Gaye fic shipping him with HIS DAUGHTER NONA. Yes, romantically. Would the Apocalypse please arrive now, because I am losing my will to live. Someone give me a reason to live!

I hadn't even heard of fan fic until I started reading the Smallville thread over at TWoP. I read a few of the Lex/Clark ones. Wow those people have imaginations!

One had Lex using kryptonite to weaken Clark long enough to give him a bj. Crazy huh?

This takes me back. I used to write fanfiction. I still want to, but mostly for Biker Mice From Mars.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned crossover fics. Those can be all kinds of horrible.

I have a hard time laughing at the Bible slash people because I had some crazy ideas back in the day. I wanted to do a crossover between Xena Warrior Princess and Gundam Wing. The plot was so ridiculous. It was supposed to involve Cronus the God of Time and Ares. Xena was supposed to become a fifteen year old girl since fifteen was the average age of the Gundam pilots and she was going to travel to their timeand get her own gundam.

I was serious about the whole thing too.

Come on people. Don't pretend you didn't have your own whacked out ideas as well.

I was killing some time on fanfiction.net last week, and I found a bunch of South Park fic. And much of it is slash. This astounds me. I'm shocked that there are people out there taking the show seriously enough to actually ship characters and have their OTPs and everything. I won't begrudge anyone their fandom, but it seems weird to me.

Especially since this is mature slash we're talking about, and the characters are supposed to be, like, eight years old. It's a little disturbing.

Though, at least it's not as out-there as the Biblical slash...

I'm sure (or should I say I really hope) that at least some of the weirder examples of fanfic are just trying to be funny, although some of that South Park fic seems awfully serious.

I think the idea of Pokemon slash is hilarious and it must be a piss-take.

You'd be surprised. From what I've seen of slashers they take their slash very seriously.

And slashing underage characters is just all shades of wrong.

Most of the ones I read in the past slashed them when they were a little bit older than 8...like, maybe 14. Not quite as bad, but still pretty icky. Blow jobs on the school bus should not be mentioned at any age...

Oy...fanfics. I remember me doing that back in the day (like a couple of years ago).

It was for Labyrinth, and I hadn't quite gotten it in my head yet that there are SO many sects of fandom that read what they wanted into their favorite tv show/movie/whatever. So, I got frustrated and wrote a fanfic that basically attempted to bust everyone's bubble about the most logical facts that make Jareth and Sarah NOT IN LOVE.

And the Marx Brothers were there...and so were Spider Jerusalem and his filthy assistants.

I didn't get out quite so much back then.
