And the Trib wonders why they are losing readers.

"Goons?" That's what got them banned?

"Goons?" That's what got them banned? Lately, Get Fuzzy has been hit or miss for me. I mean it's still better than most of the comics out there, but lately sometimes the jokes have felt a little off like maybe they're too forced. I'm really loving this week's storyline so far though. It must be in reaction to the "nut crunch/goons" strip being pulled in The Chicago Tribune even though I thought it took at least a few weeks for new comics to appear in the newspaper like how there was at least a month delay from when the i-Phone was released to when a bunch of comics all had some kind of punchline set around it in the same week.

I'm also assuming that the "BEEP" series in Get Fuzzy is in response to the censorship of the Nut Crunch strip.
The strip can be hit-or-miss, but it is still the best daily (or neck-and-neck with Pearls Before Swine) strip around. And the artwork is consistently excellent.

I don't like Get Fuzzy at all. I think it's rarely, if ever, funny. I do like he artwork, but I've stopped reading it on a regular basis because it's not worth it. There's no payoff.
I will agree with you about Pearls Before Swine. That's a consistently funny strip and one of my favorites. My other favorite is Monty, and if you aren't familar with it, you are missing out. That strip is the funniest strip out there for my money. It's so strange and you never can guess where it will go next. It's always odd and even the drawings are funny. Hilarious.

Monty is really funny.
For some reason, Lio has grown on me.
Get Fuzzy has a great quote today.

Yes, I was going to say it was still better than 99% of the comic strips out there, at least of the ones that my local paper carried, (which consists almost all of the ones that are mocked at Comics Curmudgeon on a regular basis), with Pearls Before Swine being the 1% that is better. Of course, it's due to Get Fuzzy that I actually I started reading PBS online first because of the series of strips where Darby Conley received the PBS strips for a week, and then just used his characters in place of characters from PBS, but luckily my local paper started carrying it soon after that. I think I'll start reading this one online too since whenever it's been featured on the Yahoo! site when I visit, I always get laugh like the last time when it was featured it was during the training of the cat with a spray bottle storyline, and one of the characters had sprayed the front of his pants while trying to get his cat off of his lap.

I love Heart of the City - the artwork, the stories, everything. Just looking at Spock, Dean's cat, makes me giggle.

Wow comics have sure changed and I'm way behind the times. Our local paper caries Garfield, Family Circus, those cavemen and the ironic horoscope one.
I found that "nuts" comic linked above to be funny - I chuckled, at least. When I clicked this thread I thought everyone would be talking about Calvin and Hobbes. I miss Calvin and Hobbes...
