Did anyone else have trouble registering? I registered once, got a password, tried to log in and couldn't. I registered again and never heard anything back.

I had an unbelievably hard time registering. Having been a TWOP poster for about 5 years when I ventured over to FT, I figured I'd use the same login name. I tried two or three times and I wouldn't hear anything. Nothing. No response saying "You can't use that name for this reason or that reason" so I finally made up a new name and my usage was approved. Very odd.

Yep, that happened to me-I happened to say something about Islam (I said that both Islam AND Christianity had its fair share of assholes), but one poster just completely blasted me, saying I had no knowledge of what I was saying, that I was a bigot and and a cultural moron, blah blah blah, basically building up a huge strawman. Now granted, I didn't know a LOT about Islam then, and I still considered myself a practicing (although fairly liberal) Catholic at the time, but basically, this poster tryed to paint me as a fundie nutjob, who claimed Christians were a persecuted minority.

Damn, what forums did you guys hang out in?!? I mean, we all had run-ins w/ mods and aggressive posters, but I never experienced that much religion, etc., hate and debate! Sheesh, what a nightmare.

I just read the archived Jesus thread for the first time, and it's made me laugh out loud at the end of what has been an incredibly crap day. Hee-larious.

Dude, naming names is my favorite game. What can I say? I'm small town born and bred with a talent for gossip. I'll go first: I'm gonna guess that the hip hop poster's (oops, almost wrote poser, tee hee) name started with an A, ended with an R and had zuca in between.

Hmm... I hope snarking on posters at the olde syte is ok. Crap, you guys are going to get me in trouble!!

Fascinating. . I just remember having a discussion once about how women aren't heros in any movies and talking about Trinity and constantly being told, no, it's invalid--because she's an agent or a conduit or whatthefuckever she was. And it was annoying. It isn't like he owned the thread and could decide if we could submit a character. There was no formal application process. It's one thing to be disagree. It's another to act as if you are the arbiter of the thread.


I also hated how everyone was too old and too heiferish. And you know, it'd freak me out because I have cellulite and at 34, I don't look 21. And thought, man, people are harsh.
