Ah, a question for the ages to be pondered at dinner parties for years to come.

Ah, a question for the ages to be pondered at dinner parties for years to come. Well, I sure don't know the answer. But I was getting the feeling that the moderators had begun actively despising the posters -- the ones who made their site popular to begin with. (Well, except for that handful who were in on the big circle-jerk.)

The way Frau Chun moderated that place was something else. I was a long-time lurker, and registered solely to voice what I knew would be a short-lived complaint about her draconian methods. I lurked for years and posted a handful of times because the vibes were just so negative. I wanted to contribute but I saw her banning people for the stupidest crap, yet allowing same stupid crap to flourish when it was written by her asslickers friends. There was just so much sucking up.

Stop kissing Topher's butt, or he'll end up banning the rest of us for not kissing his ass. BTW Topher, have I told you today how pretty your baby is? I know another poster who was banned from TWOP in the WTC thread right after 9-11, for implying that Bush wasn't smart enough to handle the fallout from the plane terrorist attacks. I guess Wing's patriotism was running high that day... which I can kind of understand. But Fametracker has been getting really stale. The part i like the most is the HITGs, which have been getting really short and unfunny. Read the Brad Dourif one, you'll see what I mean.

Then Wing banned someone else in the (short-lived) Dubya thread for saying that every president deserved respect whether we agree with him or not. I think it was the Dubya thread; it might have been the Clinton thread; Ican't remember. But she didn't even bother to read the whole post. Someone else quoted that post and Wing posted "who said that? I'm banning him right now!" The person eventually posted, saying "go ahead and ban me, but it's the way I feel" and I don't think I ever saw posts by that person again.

Wing's H!ITG! book is up at link. I hope no one buys it, 'cause I hold a grudge. Wing put me on 50% warning at FT and was a total beeeyotch when I dared to ask why. I honestly couldn't figure out where I had done or written anything wrong at all, let alone something deserving of a 50% warning. Not only did I never find out what I had done, I was hurt by her bitterly sarcastic and abusive reply via email. I was dripping schaden when I saw a pic of Wing for the first time; I told Mr. snarkylyn that sometimes God is fair and the outsides match the insides. ETA: Thanks for fixing my link, Moldy. You may have just sussed out the reason for my FT warning, eh?

From the link:
I can't decide how this quote should have ended. Something along; closed the best part of the site because she could.
BTW, pissing off the majority of people who would have bought the book is not a good move. From a business standpoint, keeping the boards up to sell the book would have been worth it.
