Misty, water-colored memories ... of the way we were.

Some little snippets I remember:

The "Will N'Sync become a real band with the credibility they deserve?" thread, which seemed to have its own subset of posters who only posted there.

Like "The Olsen Twins", there was a shared thread for "The Hilton Sisters", these two obscure, underage socialites who kept popping up everywhere.

The 1984-style purges, where suddenly a long-time poster would vanish for no apparent reason, and could never be spoken of again. (Devil's Advocate, Catty Wumpus, etc.)

The absolute horror on the J-Lo thread, as "Gigli" approached, that the movie was destined to be a smash hit that would permanently enshrine Bennifer in the heavens.

I remember there being a thread named something like, "I Want To Punch Tom And Penelope In The Face!," which always cracked me up. This was right before they decided to combine topics into the more organized, larger threads.

I remember PXthis, I didn't stick around long enough to witness the rapid implosion, due to the blindness from the awful colors.
I quickly settled here and over at Snarkfest. Are we the only FT replacements left?

Oooh! I remember when Catty Wumpus vanished. Shortly before that there was a new user named Feline Hunter and then Catty was just gone. I can't remember if she came back to FT during the meltdown under a different name and went on a rant about how Wing (or somebody) didn't like long time posters and was out to get them or if that was posted somewhere else. I know I read it somewhere though. I think Catty posted a lot in the Britney thread?

I vaguelly recall someone posting a record of their hits (don't know how, though), and in the months after the forums closed it was down tremendously. I mean, I never read any of the site content, I just went straight to the forums.
