That's me right there. No way am I paying hardback prices for smutty fairy/vampire stories.

I'm actually reading the Merry series and I don't mind it too much. Pretty candy-colored men with flowing hair, sadistic fairy queens, and weird creatures make for okay bus stop reading. I don't even mind the sex since, presumably, that is the whole point of the books: to show Merry having as much sex as possible with as many men as possible.

My problem is that the sex scenes aren't always that well written. I had the phrase 'he brought me'. Hate it. I'm assuming that supposed to be an okay way of saying 'he made me come' but it's just awkward and makes it sound like Merry, who isn't afraid to go down on some guy in the middle of a hallway is afraid to even think the word come. Also, for all the magic floating about, the sex scenes are kind of, well, boring.

In the last book I was more interested in the murder mystery and about learning more about the history of the sidhe.

I think that is my problem with the series as well, you have the mysteries and the fantasy history story lines that are interupted by sex, and it isn't well written. It dosen't always weave into the storyline that well.and that is what frustrates me.
