Same here, except that I watched the entire first season, hoping it would improve. It didn't. Sorry, Dean Norris - I loved you as Hank, but I can't do this anymore.

I just finished The Running Man, and as a Richard Bachman book, it's a little cruder and gorier (and shorter!) than the general King tome. I enjoyed it! It was a thrill ride only, but good as a summer read. The movie has nothing in common with it, save the name of the book and the name of two characters in the book. Everything else is a do over.
I became acquainted to King during the Thinner/Richard Bachman brouhaha. I became curious and read Thinner, the rest is history. I now curious about the other Bachman books. Heaven knows there were enough Stephen King Books for me to plough through over the years without dipping into Bachman.....

I loved Bachman's "The Long Walk". It's one of my all-time favorites.

I loved Bachman's "The Long Walk". It's one of my all-time favorites. Me too! I read it so fast when I was a teenager that my dad didn't believe I had ready it all and quizzed me on it.

I just finished Mr. Mercedes. It's not spooky/eerie King, more straightforward thriller King. The pacing was good, I just pulled a 3 hour marathon to finish it. And I cried, yes I cried.
So a solid B.

I finished it on Saturday and I'll give it a B+, the plus for King going outside his wheelhouse and having zero supernatural elements involved. And I loved most of the 'supporting' characters in this--Jerome, Holly and Janey, in particular.
And I got a little misty, too. Not the full-out weeping I did for 11/22/63, but teary-eyed, for sure.

I read it on a long flight recently and I enjoyed it, it definitely made the time pass quicker for me. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no supernatural elements to it. Personally I think villains like Mr. Mercedes are far scarier than King's usual baddies. This guy could actually exist somewhere out there.

Filmmakers after my own heart. A 75 documentary on the making of Pet Sematary. Doesn't get any better than that--and where is it? I want it. Now.

Finished Revival. Found it pretty bland.
