So, has anybody delved into the new collection of short stories yet? Are we liking 'em?

So, has anybody delved into the new collection of short stories yet? Are we liking 'em? What what what? WHERE! I am slogging through Finders Keepers, not one of my favs. Nothing is really happening, and I'm not getting the imperative to read ahead (OMG! Save the boy!). It's kind of plodding. Maybe it will pick up soon.

Uh, it's here. Since I think King shines brightest in the short story form, I will be curious (might have to wait till Christmas to find out, though.)

I'm about seven stories in and pretty underwhelmed, to be honest. Which bums me out because I've liked his other collections.

I'm almost finished with it and it gets better. I particularly enjoyed the story about the Kindle and alternate realities. It was a bit reminiscent of his novel 11/22/63.
Speaking of 11/22/63, the 8-part television series is premiering on President's Day 2016 and will star James Franco. Can't say I'm too happy about that casting choice.

Franco can do a pretty good if he's not all winky eyed and above the material. If the director can keep him in line it might be alright. But every King adaption have sucked except the Shining (which King didn't like) and Carrie. The Dead Zone and the Stand had their moments. So while I always hold out hope that this adaption will be awesome! I am perpetually let down (see Under the Dome most recently.)
I still hope the Dark Tower will be everything it could be. Don't cartoon/hipster it up guys.

Misery, Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me were all supreme King adaptations. And King has been involved in the production of 11/22/63, so fingers crossed.

I thought Delores Claiborne was great, too.

The trailer looked pretty good, and I hard time figuring out it was Franco. So that tells me he's ditched a lot of his usual tics which is a good thing. I remain optimistic.

The Green Mile is one of my favourite adaptations of King's work.
