One of those, eh? I was also someone who kinda didn't..."get" the Stephen King of the post-'80s era.

I finished End of Watch yesterday. A solid ending to the trilogy, but Mr. Mercedes is easily the best of the three.

On the way home from work I had to wait about 10 minutes for a train to pass and spray painted on two cars were "Chopper sick balls!" and "Pennywise Lives".

From all these clown sightings, it just might be true! /shiver
I picked up Revival, and I think I got about 100 pages into it, but then returned it to the library without renewing it. Should I re-pick it up?

We've had a lot of stupid-asshats-dressed-as-clowns fuckery in our city lately. So much so that the cops had to address the mass of compaints in our local newspaper--and if I had to pass graffiti that read "Pennywise Lives," I would probably go home and hide in the closet.

Should I re-pick it up? It is clunky and was a hard read. Dude needs to embrace editing! But the depiction of the afterlife truly haunted me for awhile. Leading a good life or a bad life...in the end does it matter? According to Stephen...no. And we should enjoy life as much as possible.

I can now safely report that Bazaar of Bad Dreams is excellent! It even has poetry in it (thanks, Steve.) Some retread, (I think at least a few of the stories are well-known, previously published works) but a good, solid collection overall.

Interesting news about the Castle Rock series. There's a story in Bazaar of Bad Dreams that specifically mentions CR as a place where 'the economy has gone out of Maine,' so I'm not sure how they're going to handle that creatively...maybe the poverty and struggle (never really not part of the Castle Rock saga, I guess) are part of the fear factor? Maybe they're not planning on sticking to canon?
