Congratulations to Sandy! And I'm with those who really love that she adopted a child who wasn't an infant. It's like dogs - everyone wants a puppy. But there are so many older children out there who need good, loving homes, and I'm glad she's shining a spotlight on that.
Louis continues to be the cutest kid ever. He's killing me on that cover.

I applaud her for being an awesome celeb that is setting the terms of what the public can and can't see. Granted, no one should have to deal with the drama, but unfortunately that's what comes with being in the business.
She's an amazing person and I'm thrilled for her and her littles. Congrats!

This reminds me of my elem and middle school classmate Dionne. Every year on the first day of school I'd enjoy watching her put at least one teacher in their place when they called her Dee-on. She'd say loud and strong - It's Dee-OWN. And with that, the teacher would nervously apologize. It was a great way to start off the school year. I hope Laila enjoys correcting people when they dare to call her Lay-la.

To be honest I've always found Sandra a little off putting...I don't know what it is. Regardless a child finding a happy, loving home is always great.

@innocentone , I know you said you don't know what it is, but I'm curious as to what it is that would make you find Sandra off putting. Nothing at all wrong with that as you are entitled to your own opinion, it's just that this might be the first time I've ever seen anyone with a slightly negative feeling about her. I've seen people who have no opinion one way or the other of Sandra, but that is about as far as it goes. I'm amazed by her teflon like image.

I feel like that about Julianne Moore - no one ever has a bad word to say about her. She leaves me meh. So does Sandra in films, but generally I have a positive vibe towards her. Maybe it's bc my MIL said I reminded her of her.

That's the pronunciation for the Hebrew word for "night" (as in "Laila tov").

I love Sandy, but I side eye her friendship with Chelsea Handler, and she was married to a guy who likes to dress up in Nazi stuff. I don't think she drowns kittens or anything, but she associates with sketchy people IMO.
I wonder if Chelsea ever makes jokes about Sandy's adoptions like she has about Angelina's?

To be honest I've always found Sandra a little off putting...I don't know what it is. Regardless a child finding a happy, loving home is always great. Completely agree. She's never done anything overtly offensive, unless you count marrying Jesse James, but I've always found her completely bland and charm free. People rave about her girl-next door image, and scorching chemistry with Keanu, but I don't see any of it. She's just average. I don't think she has the talent to back up her career. Her Oscar win is one of the most egregious mistakes in my lifetime. I can't put my finger on it, but something about her if just off. And I found her adoption of Louis suspect when all that stuff with JJ went down. Yes, I know the adoption was already in the works when he was exposed as a Nazi enthusiast, but it seemed awfully convenient and impeccable p.r. to pose with her new black child on the cover of People to squash even a hint of suspicion that she may also be racist.

She's not someone who 'just grates' for me, but the phrase 'Oscar winner Sandra Bullock' still always seems like a joke to me and I find The Blind Side so very white savior-y that her adoption of a black child does make me uncomfortable. But I don't find her Teflon-like public image all that incomprehensible, she's charming, pretty in a girl-next-door kind of way, and mostly stays out of the public eye.
