Does anyone know of the young adult novel that's science fiction/fantasy where the main character is not fully human and has bright orange hair, but has to cover it with a turban to disguise the fact that she's not fully human? There's a part in the book where she's being escorted to a few place and these creatures from the sky attack them and she takes off her turban to distract the creatures so the men escorting her can arrive at the castle in saftey and she barely makes it in alive. That this prince hates her at first, but then falls for her? That there's something about her that intoxicates the men around her and there's a war brewing between different kingdoms. Does anyone know what book this is?

Yes, flamethrower, that's Fire by Kristin Cashore. I really enjoyed that book! It's a fantasy novel about a kingdom where some humans/animals are 'monsters' - heightened versions of the real thing that cause uncontrollable awe/envy/desire in others.

Is it a sequel to Graceling? It's a companion novel set in the same world, rather than a sequel and actually takes place before the events of Graceling. There is due to be an actual sequel to Graceling; it's called Bitterblue and should be published next year.

I just read three books in the Treadwell Academy series. I think I've completed it, but the way it's set up there will probably be more: Rock Star's Daughter, the Viscount's Daughter, and the Believer's Daughter. I bought the first one because it was 99¢ on Kindle and kind of got hooked. Has anyone else read them? They remind me of other YA-based school-centered series where there are Issues, although the narrative was sort of SVH-ish, with many background characters, and not entirely in a bad way. I wouldn't say they were amazing, but I enjoyed them (to the point of staying up until 3 AM to finish).

Are we talking about the Divergent series anywhere? I did a search and could not find anything.
So I had a light work week and snuck out Monday afternoon to watch the new Divergent movie. I liked it - I thought that it was lighter than the Hunger Games, not as good but not as heavy and bleak. I immediately went into Must Read All the Things mode and for the last three days have been reading the series. Made the mistake of reading the last book late last night and hated it. HATED IT! I was so upset that I could not sleep. It might have replaced Breaking Dawn as the worst series finale ever and that is quite the feat.
This week has sucked balls for series finales, first HIMYM and now this. Quick, someone recommend something happy. The preview before Divergent was for The Fault in Our Stars and while I have heard it is excellent, I knew that sick kids were not for me. #weenie

You can try another book by John Greene, the author of The Fault in Our Stars. I really liked An Abundance of Katherines.

A really fun (but still thought provoking) YA book that I'd recommend is Bubble World by Carol Snow. And it's a stand alone novel, so you don't have to worry about being let down by a terrible finale! (And I agree, the first two Divergent books were really good; the third was so disappointing that I wished I hadn't read it.)

I've been reading Cinder, it's part of a series of books called The Lunar Chronicles. It's basically a sci-fi/fairytale book, the first book, Cinder, is a twist on Cinderella. Cinder, who is Cinderella, is a cyborg, half robot-half human. My friend recommended it to me and I scoffed at the idea, I'm not big on sci-fi, but I seriously LOVED Cinder. The series has 4 books, but the fourth doesn't come out until next year. Since I binge read, I chose not to read books 2 or 3 yet since I know I'll die waiting for book 4 to come out. I may eventually give in and buy the other two books, because the way book 1 ended was on a cliff hanger. I seriously recommend this book to anybody, my 10 year old niece even read it and she loves it too.
