This thread has rekindled a desire for me to reread the series. Well, I wasn't aware that there was a college version.

SVU is as tasty as SVH. Enid changing her name to Alexandra and then hooking up with Todd is one of my favorite Sweet Valley moments.

I got some off brand cola today at work and I realized that the distrubutor was called Sweet Valley. I had to bit my tongue to keep myself from being all Sweet Valley Twins, but then I would sound like a loser. So I posted it here, which kinda makes me a loser.

Linared, I've seen that before! And I also thought of Sweet Valley Twins. Anyone who is cool would automatically associate Sweet Valley with the Wakefields ;D

You're right, we are awesome and should take pride in our Sweet Valley memories.

Secretly, if there was someplace that had school-logo shirts that said "Sweet Valley University" or "Sweet Valley High School," I know I'd totally get them and wear them.

I just realized that we had a thread for this and so last night I read through it. I can't believe how much I even remembered from the SVH books, and I guess I was too old to enjoy the SVU ones because I didn't even know they existed until yesterday. Now I am horribly intrigued.

If I could find a Unicorn shirt, I'd wear it.

A couple years ago, Sears sold a pale blue t-shirt with "Sweet Valley ski resort." It had the identical font to the later SVH books (with the animated covers). It's closest I've found to something with Sweet Valley.

I met one of the Sweet Valley ghostwriters yesterday. She said they had a series bible as thick as a phone book with every detail that ever there was about the characters and plot, and every time she wrote one, they'd send her the updated version. She loved spotting characters that she'd introduced in the series bible. Apparently there was a minor character who changed appearance quite early on, between one book and the next? The fans freaked, so they had to start keeping track.
Originally Francine Pascal came up with the idea as a TV series, then sold the concept to a book-packager who commissioned the actual books. I don't think she herself wrote any.
Sigh. I nearly wet myself when she told me that she'd written some. She didn't give me many details, but she did some Sweet Valley Twins and one or two SVH, back in the 80s.
