For the untrue rape accusations - Jessica got the ball rolling right in the first book when she accused Todd of trying something with her (not true), and at some point Lila had her therapist arrested to attempted rape (also not true, though she survived an actual attempted rape at some point), some chick whose name I can't remember tried to seduce Mr. Collins and when he didn't fall for it, she tore her clothes and told Liz he tried to rape her, etc. And of course, there were plenty of actual date rape attempts. The livejournal group "1Bruce1" hilariously has tags for "attempted rape (fake)" and "attempted rape (real)". I was just always amazed at how much rape was used as a plot point in books aimed at a younger crowd. Suzanne Devlin. Why do I remember this, when I can't remember what I did with my keys?

I was browsing my Nook and I see that SV Confidential will be continuing in E book form.
It's going to be called The Sweet Life. And it takes place 3 years after SV Confidential. So far I see 6 books available for pre order with the first book due in June.
I have not read SV Confidential yet. I guess I should now. Really looking forward to the new series.

Sweet baby Xenu. Did anyone else get an email about the new Sweet Valley book? Liz and Jess are *gasp* 30! I was so disappointed by the last one, but I can't say no. I do hope we'll get to read about them when they turn 40, though.

It really is true how rarely characters ever "said" anything in those books and others like them. Of course, when you go on to study writing, you're taught that it's bad form to have characters constantly "hiss" and "giggle" and "whisper" rather than just say their dialogue.
