Hey, I wanted to know too!
Mandy sounds right to me. That settles it; you are the undisputed champ of SVH nollidge...

Well, DUH! I am the Greecie equivalent of Penny Ayala! Of course, now I'm wondering "Was it Mandy Farmer or Penny Ayala? Or Susan Stewart? Or Emily Mayer? Or-"

Oh! It was Mandy what's-her-name, who sort of was Winston's girlfriend in Book 6. She was a redhead in one book, and had dark hair in another! Mandy Miller. She had cancer in the Sweet Valley Twins series and the chemotherapy caused her hair to fall out. It was auburn originally but grew back brown. I hadn't known about the letters, but I guess that's why they thought up this storyline.

She came in late in the series of SVT and she was whacky and wore strange clothes but eventually won over the Unicorns. I think she was in the Unicorns Go Hawaiian, which is one of my favorite Super Specials from the Twins series. But I don't think she was the same Mandy that Winston Egbert dated in high scool.

Yeah, that was Mandy Farmer. And in one book, she had long, black hair.

Has anyone seen this website yet? I've forgotten how much I hated Elizabeth. And they mention Dwanollah's site.

I loved, loved, LOVED the Sweet Valley books that spanned the generations (there was one devoted to the Wakefields and I think there was another devoted to the Fowlers). In each generation, Jessica and Elizabeth's mom's ancestors would meet a Wakefield, and they'd inevitably fall in love...but it never worked out until Alice and Ned finally married. They were cheesy and ridiculous but I would read them again in a second if I still had them!

I just found that site yesterday. It is really amazing to look back and see just how craptastic those books are, and the really, REALLY disturbing amout of attempted date rapes and guys falsely accused of attempted date rape (Jessica accuses Todd of it in the Book #1 and they just ran with it from there). What the hell was going on in Sweet Valley? And why weren't the police ever called?
And that site reminded me of the totally awesome writing and dialog - stuff like this:
Yes, Todd care about whales. Deeply.
The recaps are hilarous. I remember really liking "The New Jessica" when I first read it (in grade school), and the recap highlighted just how really, really crappy it actually is. And just how much of a sociopath Jessica is. Yikes.
