I enjoyed how all the Elizabeths died tragically in the Wakefield Saga book. I enjoyed how all of the Wakefield twins' maternal ancestors kept running into all of their paternal ancestors, starting with Theodore Wakefield from England meeting Alice Larson from Sweden on the boat going to America and culminating in Ned and Alice's marriage. Twins 1.0: Elisabeth and Jessamyn. Elisabeth dies in a circus riding accident (Jess is a bareback rider), and Jess survives. She has two daughters and a son (natch).... Don't forget Elisabeth and Jessamyn's older brother Steven (who died before they were born?).

New feature on Francine Pascal and the return of Sweet Valley. From the article: OK, I have to say bollocks to there ever being a 'bible' - or if there was, it contained only the details about the sun-streaked hair and size 6 figures. I can't think of another series that got its own facts wrong as much as SVH did.

One of my holy grails is to someday be able to take a gander at the "bible" but several of us are doubtful of its existence as well... although I remember an article w/a ghostwriter who said she'd used it. Also, can you believe Francine is 83?!

That article also mentions that a major character comes out as gay -- anyone have any ideas?

Jeffrey French always seemed kind of dickless, which reminded me of a lot of the boys in choir who had chaste high school relationships with girls and then came out in the first semester of college.
Bruce would be the unsurprising surprise, if that makes sense--it would be "shocking" to have him come out, but I don't think it's realistic. Todd, maybe. Winston never pinged, but he would be a good sacrificial lamb. OOH. Steven gets my vote.
Unless they're using "gay" in a generally homosexual way, in which case...I have no idea.

I think they're referring to when Tom McKay was suddenly insta-gay.

Oh noes! I missed Tom McKay's outing. But from the Daily Beast article, I got the idea it would be someone more Sweet Valley A-list who was not already gayish.

I'll have to re-read. Needless, I have several friends sending me links to all sorts of awesome articles right now. Can't imagine why. <----

Maybe Todd? But Todd is more likely to go to work at Sea World and fall in love with a whale. Because he really cares about whales.
