I just got an ebayer selling obviously fake Coach tossed! Well, at least, they closed the listings. He had stolen his picture from another listing and was selling like, 20 Coach bags for $85 a piece, Buy It Now. I would be surprised if he even had any bags to sell. The strange thing was, his acct. was 6 years old, he had 100 percent feedback, and he had only sold one other item- all of his feedback were from items purchased. Does that mean that someone hacked in and took over an old acct., you think? ETA: I cannot figure this out. I am selling a black Coach wristlet, but when I did a search, mine did not come up in the results. SO I think its a glitch and I cancel the listing. I relisted it and now it still not showing up in a search and it is not showing up on my Selling Ebay List. Can anyone help me with this? Sorry to reply so late, but sometimes the search can take awhile to kick in on a listing. Up to a few hours. I never search till the next day to confirm its coming up. As for the seller with the cheap Coach bags, I think you're right and its a hacker. Glad you caught him!

I am SUCH a moron. I thought that if you did not sell an item, you did not have to pay fees! So now, I have to pay $21 of my $51 profits. That blows.
Plus, since I was having the problems with my Coach listing, I closed the listing twice and relisted, which cost me 4.80. It was strange, it appeared in listings the 1st day, and stopped the 2nd day. I don't know if they froze it while they were looking at it to see if it was a fraud- I don't know. 4.80- grrrrr.

Oh, it gets worse. I went to the USPS to mail the stocking hangers I sold and I underestimated shipping by $9, so there goes even more of my profits. At this rate I am not going to have any profits. Double- grrrrrr.

I was given a $25 eBay gift certificate that I tested out with a 75 dollar total purchase. So, after I added in the code, I saved up to a whopping 73-something, but didn't pay. Instead, I clicked on some button that took away the discount and displayed the old fees. So, just a little while ago, I tried to pay for real this time and entered the code, and now I'm being told that I am "not able to apply the Redemption Code." What happened here? DId I accidently cancel the certificate and sent the funds back? Although, on my profile page, it says the funds are still active. But what now? Will I never be able to use it?

I hate Pay Pal.
I bought a Ralph Lauren shirt that when it arrived was obviously fake. Ebay kicked the seller off, so I filed a complaint with Pay Pal. What a bunch of assholes. I did absolutely everything they asked me and received nothing but vague rather hateful emails. They wanted me to try resolving it with the seller- I sent two emails, no response. I opened my dispute, followed their directions to a t, mailed the shirt back to the seller at the address they gave me. Gave Pay Pal the tracking #. The seller refused the package and Pay Pal asked me to provide verification that I mailed it to the right address. I told them that the only reason they knew that the seller had refused the package is because I provided them with the tracking #, they responded by denying my claim.
I email back and raise holy hell, they open it back up. Tuesday, they email me and tell me that they need me to fax the tracking # receipt to them. I scanned it in and emailed it to them, telling them that I scanned the receipt which is much easier and quicker since we will be out of town for the holidays Wednesday thru Friday. Wednesday, they email me and tell me that they cannot accept emails with attachments and that I had to fax it. I got home late last night, checked my email, responded to that email and asked to have until Monday because of being out of town for Thanksgiving. Nope, another email today saying that my claim was closed because I failed to provide them the proper information that they had requested.
Which makes no fucking sense. They wanted a faxed copy of my tracking #, when they had already received my tracking # and used it successfully which means it is legitimate! I mean, how hard is this? Ebay kicked this guy off for selling counterfeit merchandise! They treated me like I was the one who was defrauding people. They made it virtually impossible to get a refund- we have had a Pay Pal acct. for 5 years with an IMPECCABLE record. Never filed a complaint before. And the worst part is I would get really snotty responses from them, "As we have already told you Mrs. Borokat...." and if you asked for clarification and did not provide the info they wanted immediately, they won't respond- they just close your claim. It is absolute bullshit, and MrB is so pissed, he is going to email them back which NEVER happens!

Paypal sucks. That is all. And they were also unhelpful with my gift certificate mess. Even though I told the lady that it worked perfectly well before, she told me that I needed to make sure that all sellers accept Paypal and the fees were more than 25 dollars. Look, I know all of that already, and the damn thing still isn't working! Argh!

Eeek, you guys are freaking me out. I was planning on buying online and having stuff shipped directly to the US for Christmas, but I'm not sure I want to use paypal now. Are there any other options?

There's always money order or check. Some sellers would also accept cash (although for some reason, sellers must term it as cash-on-delivery, or risk getting their auction canceled. Bah.). All of them hold the risk of the seller screwing you over, and eBay not doing a damn thing about it. Or the bank either, for that matter.
Hmm, maybe this should be in the pet peeve section instead.
