I had to file a complaint on Poshmark. I bought a pair of Ray-Bans and the ones that came are clearly not the same. Has anyone gone through a resolution on Poshmark? There’s a detail that makes me think that I’m not going to win this—kind of like those People’s Court cases where someone sold a picture of a cell phone.

There’s a detail that makes me think that I’m not going to win this—kind of like those People’s Court cases where someone sold a picture of a cell phone. I filed a complaint after receiving a completely different pair of shoes than I had ordered. I included pictures of what I ordered and what I received, included the point that the shoes I received were not even the right size. The next day they sent me the shipping label to return. As soon as the seller received the item back my refund was processed.

I went looking on eBay for a certain brand of pants that they don't make anymore and was really excited to find an auction of 3 pairs. They were not new, but listed in good condition so I figured I'd just wash them (maybe twice just in case) and I'd have 3 pairs of these pants I can't find anywhere else.
Well, I got them, one pair was a completely different size than what was listed in the auction, one pair was some crazy style of zippered capri pants that definitely was not described in the auction, they smelled like they hadn't even been washed before being put up for sale, and were so threadbare that holding them up to the light made them see-through.
The seller is clearly a professional seller with a ton of items, so they gave me zero hassle on the return option, but just...why??? Who would ever think these were an item worthy of resale? These were at the "tear them up and make cleaning rags out of them stage."
Very annoying and now I'm back on the hunt for these same pants just 2 weeks away from a planned trip that I wanted them for.

That is annoying but I think some of those professional sellers that have tons of listing are probably not that involved in the nitty gritty sales stuff and probably hire people to do it for them, who don't think too much about it--like, they go to a thrift shop, buy tons of stuff to resell without really sifting through it. I'm glad you got your money back, but that's annoying. The only clothing I've bought from ebay that ended up being worth it was "new with tags" once it's anything less, it's never in great shape.

I may have posted this before, but I've gotten great deals on gently- or never-worn Converse Chuck Taylors. They're all I wear any more, besides the Ferragamo Varas my grandmother bought me before she died, and Toms espadrilles.

This is the first time I've been blatantly cheated on Poshmark or eBay--everything that has gone wrong has usually been errors in judgment about fit, or not realizing a 1991 UK 8 Dr. Martens is a bit smaller than a 2019 UK 8. Poshmark adjudicated in my favor, so I'll just ship these dag-nasty glasses back.

Today I learned that Ebay sniping is still a thing!
I subscribe to a British needlework magazine, but the mail is messed up and I missed an issue. Apparently a lot of other people did as well, because this issue didn't have a lot of listings. Last week I did find one where the bidding ended last night and I put in a bid.
Then a few days later someone put in a "Buy it now" listing for one at much less than my high bid, and I went ahead and bought it.
I thought I would end up with two copies, but someone sniped my bid and won the other one. Yes!!!

I had an experience like that happen the other day, and I thank god it did. I must have set a high bid and forgot about it (that's what I do when I particularly want something -- I will decide the upper range of what I'll pay and set my high bid at the lower range) and you can imagine my horror when some things came up and I hadn't been outbid for the items in question. I could have paid for them but I didn't want to -- thankfully I was outbid at the last second.
My ebay pet peeve is people who don't default to media mail for shipping media. I get that ebay defaults to priority and its aggravating cousins, but I don't want to pay priority shipping for books, magazines, etc.
