I can often go for weeks with leaving feedback, just out of absentminded-ness. Though I do try to leave it for everyone, I know not all eBayers leave FB. If he doesn't leave it within the next coupld of weeks maybe a polite e-mail? And *don't* leave it first. I'm just paranoid that way!

My buyer still hasn't rated me. He should have received the poster by yesterday. He never responds to any of my emails. I'm annoyed. But hey, he paid and the eCheck cleared! Grumpy Girl, I went and checked your buyer's "feedback left for others" and the last time he left any was last December and he buys stuff all the time, so don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Plus he's been a member since '03 and had only one negative and that was over a year ago. So apparently he's a man of few words. You don't have to leave feedback, you know. It's just a courtesy. I had an aggravating experience with a seller and sent her a rather testy email and never got a reply, and never got or left feedback for her either, and nothing happened. I'm just sorry your first experience was a bumpy one.

I have a problem. I bought a leather jacker off ebay at the end of March, and it still hasn't arrived. I emailed the seller Friday, but no response. They sold several items, then suddenly delisted themselbes from ebay. I do have the bill and the UPS shipment invoice with tracking number, but tracking has shown nothing. I did have it insured. WHat do I do know? Keep trying to contact the buyer, ebay, or UPS?

That's scary that the seller delisted. I bought a DVD from a seller who did that, and paypal eventually just put the money back in my account. The seller listed like 13 DVDs and vanished. Several other people bought one and we were all what the...? But a leather jacket is serious money. Did you use Paypal? They may have some sort of policy where you can get your money back. Email them with your invoice number or forward it with your query. Best of luck to you...

Paypal only gives you a limited amount of time to file a claim. I would file ASAP--a claim can be withdrawn if the issue is resolved. If a seller is just lazy, filing a claim can light a fire under their ass, too.

I got things straightened out. Thing was, my eBay account has been inactive for a few months. I wasn't buying or selling. Somehow someone was able to get into my account and list a buttload of iPods. It was at least 40 auctions!
Thank goodness only one person bit and was able to get her PayPal payment back. When I got the seller email, I thought it was a spoof one until I noticed my full name at the top and a different email address on the bottom of it. I emailed her to stop payment, and I made a phone call to eBay Security. I have to be more vigilant now and keep some activity going on in my account.

PayPal question--
An organization I work with decided this year to forego snail mailing scholarship fundraising requests and instead just send Evites out with a PayPal link to the group's new account. I think we were all under the assumption that a PayPal button on the Evite would be a quick, easy, spontaneous way to donate and be done with it, and we were anticipating at least as much response as we've gotten in the past with snail mail.
Instead, we are running about three-quarters below our annual total and we're not sure whether we'll have enough for one scholarship, much less the two or three that we usually give out. I'm rather stunned at the lack of response--of the over 750 Evites we sent out two weeks ago, we've only gotten about fifteen responses, and five or six of those are members of our organization.
Is PayPal, or any other Internet payment method, THAT intimidating to people? Last year, in addition to the mailed invites, we emailed those for whom we had no physical address and got a strong response, so I really don't know what to attribute this to.
(And if anyone knows a better thread for this question, please let me know so I can copy it there!)

Yes, it is. Paypal involves a lot more to sign up than they portray (it isn't instant/fast like they say), and they're also a rather faceless organization (like eBay). I use paypal because there's no real alternative but I do genuinely hate them and await the day they have real competition.

Even moreso for those who aren't that Internet savvy to begin with. Plus with all the email money scams floating around, most people are skittish about sending their money that way. You might have to send a paper invite.
