That's 'zackly what I'm doing, with a doll as Christina. They still sell Old Dutch at the 99c store.
Scrub, Christina! Scrub! Scrub! It'll never be clean enough!

I know! The first time I saw Old Dutch at the 99-cent store, I almost cracked up right there. DO YOU THINK IT'S CLEAN? ?

Cool costumes! I sewed a stuffed doggie to an old sweatshirt for my husband. He's going to go as an employee at an Attack Dog School. (got that one off the internet) I was going to be Katie Holmes, complete with fake belly and mouth sores. But I'm allergic to the stuff you use to make fake wounds. I was going to just draw sores on a bandaid but I tried it and it was so annoying to have that on my lip. I knew I couldn't stand it all night long. Soooo I'm going as a peasant. Boring! My daughter is very much into Pokemon and has created her own characters. She'll go as one of those, using stuff from her dress-up box. Before child, my husband and I went as Jesus and The Devil one year. It was so great!!! We got free drinks in every bar we went into

I totally wanted to be Wanda from the Fairly Odd Parents...but Mr. Wolf has no reason to go anywhere in his Cosmo costume. So I put the kibosh on it and bought a witch costume.

Not quite Halloween, but close. Next week, our Theater Arts dorm is having their annual Rocky Horror extravaganza. I have never seen it before, so two friends want to take me. They also want to dress me up as Hedwig when we go. Dear Lord, what have I signed myself up for?!

Couldn't you just use lipstick for the sores, as a last resort?

This will be the first time in several years that I'm going to be at work for Halloween, so I'm going to be able to dress up. I'm going as The Road To Hell. I have a black sweater and pants. I bought a black cape. I'm going to put yellow tape down the front of my sweater and the back of my cape. I'm going to wear devil horns and carry a handbasket. Then I'm going to write statements on index cards and pin them to my outfit. I'll include things like "I tried my best!" "I did it all for you!" "It's the thought that counts!"

Thanks BagofBones for the TCP suggestion. I picked up some tights and a black bodysuit in store, and you saved me a few trips.
This isn't costume related, so I hope it's okay---but I'm new to this Halloween with kids things. We want to take our just turned 1 year old to a few houses for trick or treating, mostly so I can eat the candy myself. But, at least in my neighborhood, things definitely aren't the same as when I was little. No one seems to be home anymore because all the parents take their kids out, and "in my day", we just tore up the neighborhoods in groups of 3 or more. Is there any other thing to do besides door to door to get candy?
Now you guys are making me wish I'd gotten creative enough to wear something when we take our daughter out. There's always next year though.

JDub most malls have some form of indoor trick-or-treating from store to store. It is indoors and warm, but it seems(at least here) that the line is very long and you stand around for quite some time. I would check around to see if there is somthing similar to that in your area.

I found my cat ears! I was afraid this would be the second year in a row that I'd go without them. Fortunately they just fell behind my dresser.
Yeah, it's not much of an outfit. But I plan to wear them to work with a headset and see how many double takes I get. And do the "you have a good day meow" thing from Super Troopers.
ETA: As it happens, headset + cat ears + glasses is a nightmare. I spent the evening adjusting everything and ditched the ears at the first opportunity.
