Don't you hate it when they start to have opinions? I just thank my lucky stars that Batgirl did not decide she wanted to be Ariel this year.

Fear not, y'all. I have seen bits n pieces of the ghost Jessie in progress. Traffic has lived up to her past achievments. The subject may be mundane, but execution still shines.
I'm looking forward to my costume. She has decided I will be a roll of film. A famous discontinued film. Film that is dead, so to speak. Zombie Kodachrome!

Zombie Kodachrome is an awesome idea, ratscabies!
I bought a hat the other day that a friend said reminded her of Indiana Jones, so I think I might be a lady Jones this year. I've got the hat, a khaki dress, boots, and I still need to get a bomber jacket and a whip. The kicker is that I think I've convinced my boyfriend to accompany me as Henry Jones Sr., aka Sean Connery. He's got a beard that we can dye gray, plus a tweed suit, hat, and a bowtie. And he'll get to talk in a bad Sean Connery accent all night!

Ugh, I'm trying to be Ariel this year (well, the hipster Little Mermaid to be specific) and it is turning out to be incredibly difficult! I can do the hair and the shell bra no problem but I can't figure out the tail. I bought some shiny green material and I'm hoping to mess around with it until it looks vaguely tail like. Anyone have any tail solutions? Or much easier costume suggestions?

I am gonna be an old school stewardess. Totally inspired by Pan-Am (the show) but the costume's not like their uniforms. I got this dress (no belt and I am going to have it way shortened, but not like skanky-level!), this pillbox hat in navy, and some airline wing pins, for the hat and the dress. I have some nude patent leather flats I'll probably wear, too, and I want false eyelashes!

pear tea, my roommate is being Ariel (Disney princess duo, fuck yes) and she's just using a lot of green tulle to puff out the bottom part of the skirt. She hasn't made it yet so I don't know how it'll pan out, but that's the plan.

Well, Miss P bailed on being a ghost Jessie. She told me today that she was "Just kidding, mom. I want to be regular Jessie." Oh well. So here she is. I'm still working on the mechanics of ratscabies' costume. There's math involved...

Wow, that is fantastic! petitesuite, your Jasmine costume look great, I'd love to see you and your roommate as the Disney power duo when she's finished hers. And I think I've finally figured out my Ariel outfit! I bought some super shiny green fabric and sewed it into a simple tapered skirt (and I mean simple, I am no seamstress). It doesn't have a fin or anything at the bottom but I think it's good enough to get the point across. I've got an old purple bra to attach some big seashells to, although the mechanics of that part still needs some thought put into it. Once I got those shells attached, I just need to put on my hipster glasses, grab a fork and I'm ready to go!
