I think I'm going to upgrade my camera with my tax refund money. Well, only if I sell my other camera. But still, yay! I don't really need one, I love my camera, but the new one has upgraded to 7 megapixels, which, although unnecessary, is very cool. I mostly want to get it because, as much as I love my current camera, the new version has image stabalization and such so that in low light, the picture is less grainy and more stable. I have pretty shakey hands, and so many of the pictures I take are in low light situations it always bugs me when they aren't quite right. Unfortunately, it doesn't come out until May, and I wanted instant gratification. Sigh. Oh well. I'm super excited though for it. I love techno-geek stuff. Love it! If I were rich, I'd have every gizmo under the sun.

Mr. Pancake, go for the one you've been wanting, by all means, but here's a site where you can read reviews of digital cameras. They also have a forum, which is great because you can read about others' experiences with their cameras. We have a Nikon D50[/color], which is ten kinds of awesome. It's really easy to buy a point and shoot camera that's more expensive that this one, but you actually would be getting less camera, if that makes sense. If you can afford not to, absolutely do not buy another point and shoot. The SLRs are so nice and create wonderful pictures. Just keep in mind that if you get one without a lens already, it'll look cheaper, but you'll still need to buy a lens. If you enjoy taking pictures, you will love switching to the SLR. For one thing, it will last longer because there's room for you to grow -- you can change out the lenses and "trade-up." You can also take pictures in rapid succession without pauses, like a real camera. Of course, if you already have your heart set on something else, uh...nevermind.

Sleepy, I love taking pictures, but I'm not a photographer (if that makes any sense). I mainly use my camera for going out with friends, and the biggest selling point for any camera for me is the size. I know that's dumb and hardcore photographers would scoff, but the fact that I'm able to fit the camera into my pocket means that I capture a lot of moments I wouldn't have otherwise. I'm still willing to explore my options, but ultimately I don't think I won't get a camera that isn't tiny, because I know, realistically, I won't use it. I've probably taken (and have on my computer) more than 10,000 pictures I've taken with this camera, and overally, I'm very happy with them. I think someday, if I ever have money, I would like to get a "real" camera and learn how to actually photograph correctly, but at this point, I'm really into just having it with me to capture all the fun and exciting moments. I know if I didn't have the camera I have now, I'd probably have, at most, about 10 percent of the pictures I have now. I'm such a huge dork, I've been to dpreview already, along with a few other sites. I love CNet, they have really good and thorough reviews, too. I'm anxiously awaiting their review of this camera, though I understand Sony has corrected a lot of qualms they had. I'm still going to keep an eye out for more, though, but I'm pretty sure I'll get this one. I'm stubborn. Plus, I'm sort of a Sony bitch. I really like their products and I've had good luck with them. We still use the 2.1 MP camera from them we got some years back, and it's a really great camera. I also need to bargain hunt a bit.

I completely understand, Mr. Pancake. That makes sense to me. And Sony does have some itty-bitty cameras. Whatever you go with, have fun!

I was wondering about you guys this weekend too! Antioch got spared--we had a bit of hail and that's it. Nothing anywhere near what Gallatin got.
Hmm, I'll see if I can find that one in Franklin, maybe. I hadn't even thought about TJ Maxx--there's one close to us. Right next to the one kids' consignment store that I do know of, so maybe we'll just hit those places. Not that my friend really needs anything--she's having a girl who will be almost exactly (like, within a week or so) a year younger than Thing 2, so I have tons of still-in-good-shape clothes to give her. But we have to shop whenever we're together, no matter what!

Sort of fashion, sort of Consumer Reports question for the lushly bosomed members of readership: has anyone tried the Last Resort sports bra from Title 9? It sounds right for me but I'm a [cliche] poor graduate student and don't really have the $59 alloted for *any* lingerie right now [/cliche]. However, I just started working out and I am afraid of getting jogger-boobs. What I normally do is wear a regular bra under a plain Fruit of the Loom-type sports bra, and that mostly works, but I wonder if that's enough? Maybe this is really a fitness question...? I was shopping at Target and they only had low-impact bras. Pout.

I don't know what I'd do without DSW. I'm not a huge shoe fiend, but it's just so nice to be able to wander around and see lots of different shoes, know immediately whether or not they have my size, and the prices won't be horrid. I got a pair of pumps to match a suit I bought, and while nobody will mistake them for Manolos, they're comfy, the right color, and all of $25.

I love DSW. No matter what there is no guilt shopping there.... I recently had an online shopping binge. I just purchased a Garmin C320 (GPS thingy). A necessity as my heart beat doubles at the site of orange construction cones, triples at the site of "Detour" routes leading me off the main artery highway and flat lines when I have lost the dang "Detour" signs. And, then I purchased furniture online( Bedroom set). (The link has an audio sound equipped to it, that I love and can mimic quite easily.) We desperately needed a bedroom set. I tried (really) going to Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel... but, my heart wasn't in it. If the bedroom set doesn't work out, oh well. We lived with crappy Sauder furniture for years (the corners of the furniture used to reach out and gouge my legs every morning), so I think any furniture will be an improvement. To round out my shopping binge, I am going to check out Sephora (need more eyebrow powder).

DSW can be a lot of fun. I got a cute pair of pale green suede Etienne Aigner kitten heels there for $10.

I've lost count of the cute, inexpensive brand-name shoes I've gotten at DSW. There's just no place better!
