Thanks sunnyhorse. I had heard that Eddie Bauer might be an option. It's handy to know the name of the cut, though.

My question now, is: Is this store considered dorky? I only ask because I saw something (which I can't remember now) that was dissing it. I wouldn't consider ATL dorky, per se. For me, they're a godsend because they're the only store, and I mean ONLY, who make a great selection of petite length dress pants that fit me. Most places make petites still too long for me. And some of their tops and skirts are really cute. I'm not crazy about alot of their color selections, but that's really my only thing I don't like about them.

I love Target, I just got 6 new summer tops and 3 skirts for under $45. What is even better is 2 of the skirts were really nice maternity ones and a pretty grey floaty one that should fit me even after a get my bump in a few months.

Glad you had luck at Target.
I never do, even though I keep trying. It's like I'm not skinny enough or tall enough for their clothes or something.

This isn't about clothes, but it is about a shopping. Earlier this week, I lost my cell pone in a cab, and I'm pretty sure, I'm never going to get it back. (I tried calling it, but it had been turned off.) So I decide to get a replacement phone. When I went to the Verizon store, they told me to go to a private wireless store, because they would be able to get me a better price on a cell phone. So I did. I found the same model as my old phone, which they tried to sell me for $200 dollars. I know it retails for $180; so they told me they'd sell it for me for $170. I decided to buy it, but when I got home. I realized that it wasn't new; it had scratches on it and somebody else's phone numbers stored in it. Plus I was told that I'd be able to reactivate it with my old number, but this phone already has an old number assigned to it. Is this technically fraud? I thought I was buying a new phone. The receipt also says "no refunds" but I want to bring it back. What can I do?

Try to bring it back and raise hell. I think the best thing to do in such a situation is buy a used phone off ebay or something and get it reactivated with your old number. I think that can be done inexpensively. I, personally, have found private cell phone stores to always be shady and weird, so I never go to them, but I've also never bought a used phone and activated it to my number. But I do know it can be done. Yeah, try to take it back and tell them that it was sold to you as new and was clearly used. Just threaten them with something big, and they'll probably take it back. It's usually not worth it to them.

I've found that working the word "attorney" into the conversation works wonders.

Plainjane, what a pain in the neck. Go back and raise holy hell. They may help you out just to get you to go away, you never know. Good luck!
So, Kohl's had one of their mega sales yesterday, and I got summer clothes for cheap! I got three skirts, a pair of lightweight cropped pants, two t-shirts, two pairs of shorts, a pair of sandals and new undies. Yippee!!! I'm so happy. I love having new clothes, especially when they don't cost an arm and a leg.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I did go back today; at first I explained the situation calmly, but they would only give me a "store credit," which to me means that they get to keep the phone and my money. I'm usually a very shy person and don't like to make a big scene, but I argued with them for half an hour, demanding a refund, but they wouldn't budge. I was so angry, I was actually shaking. They were very rude and didn't even apologize for the defective merchandise. The store credit they gave me was just a note on the receipt. I'm going to try to dispute the charge on my credit card, but so far because the charge is only pending, I can't do it. I'm going to call back tomorrow, just to show that I made a good faith effort to solve this problem before I get the credit card company involved. I'm also going to file a complaint with the Consumer Affairs Department. I looked up the store on the Better Business Bureau website, and they have had several complaints filed against them. Big suprise.

This weekend I bought some new work shoes at DSW. They are these awesome heeled tan sandals from Kenneth Cole's new Tribeca line. When I tried them on for the five seconds at the store, they were so comfortable and so cute.
I just got home from work. Those shitheads rubbed little blisters all over my feet. I'm double angry because I threw out the shoes I was replacing them with, and now I have to force myself to wear them in. And blisters from other shoes had just healed, too!
I wish I didn't have a thing against buying used shoes. I want to pay someone to wear these in for me.
