Can anyone explain to me why it took longer to update/dowload my Norton today than it did to install a new printer. I was ready to spend the afternoon bitching about trying to get the printer up and running and it installed like snap. Norton on the other hand confused me and took 2 hours.... Oh and can anyone explain this one -- when I try and burn a cd my disc is always rejected or some such phrase. I've reloaded and turned the thing over and no joy. Is it possible that I've had the spindle to long or could it be the room's to hot or ??

Have you tried a new disc or a different brand of disc? I recall that happening to me once and I just took a new disc out of the same package and it worked fine. I figured it was just a bad disc.

Just a general whine (I really doubt anyone knows a magic fix to this). The keyboard on my laptop is malfunctioning. From time to time a key just doesn't respond to touch, so I have to watch everything I type with paranoid attention and sometimes press the key again. The set of keys that do this is random, so pretty much any key on the keyboard. I've disassembled my laptop, cleaned the keyboard (it wasn't dirty, since I don't eat near my laptop), disconnected and reconnected the wire between the keyboard and the motherboard, like the great Internet recommended. That worked for a day. But when I restarted my computer, the problem came back again.
I called Acer (the laptop brand) and ordered a new keyboard for about 20 bucks. I'll try to put it in, but I doubt it'll work. The next step is to send it in for repairs, but since it's out of warranty, it'll be at least $450. Normally I would just buy a new laptop, since it's around time for that anyways, but I want to give this one to my mom when I'm done with it, and I need it to be working.
Does anyone have a magic fix? I know that I can try to connect an external keyboard but that presents logistic problems, since it'll put me too far from the screen.

Can someone using FireFox go to ESPN.com and see if they can click on a story link. I have used two different computers and FireFox and cannot click through to the story.

Has anyone else had problems with this site? For the past couple of days whenever I've come here it's crashed my Explorer after a couple of pages. This seems to be the only site that does that; I've tried everything I can think of. I've run my virus scan several times, Adaware, Hijack This and Spyware Blaster. I've defraged and scanned my OS.

Anyone else experiencing difficulties accessing a bunch of sites? Like Yahoo Mail, YouTube or LiveJournal? I don't know what is going on, but I can't access any of them now, while a few hours ago all was fine and it's driving me nuts.

Can somebody tell me how to download website files? I have a website. I am moving. I am switching hosting companies. The new company needs the website files. They aren't stored on my computer. I don't have Frontpage. Can I download these files to my computer? How?
Urgh I wish I knew more about this stuff!
