I saw a discussion on Firefox vs IE and thought thread would help out.
BTW, Firefox kicks IE's ass.

Just because it needs repeating all over again: THANK YOU TOPHER!!!!!!!!!!!
I've just learned about Firefox so I can't talk about that right now. But I did want to give a *BIG* shout out to the best Malware program around: Ewido.
IIRC, it's free for 2 weeks but, even after that, you can download updates and it scans/fixes your computer. I don't visit porn sites but still I find about 48 (minor) things every few days. Probably just from clicking on many of the links here. Ewido catches things that Ad-Aware and SpyBot don't, although I highly recommend using at least one other program in addition to Ewido.

My boyfriend refuses to download Firefox, so when I got my own computer it was the first thing I did. I don't know why he's so against it, but he's stuck on IE.
I looooove Firefox, especially the tabbed browsing. I almost always have about four tabs open, and I have no problem getting up to 20 or 40 tabs. It's so much easier to open a new tab than it is to go back and forth. Right now I have seven tabs open. They're addictive.

See, I switched to Firefox a while ago from IE, and I have to say, I don't feel the love. I don't hate it, and I rarely used tab browsing. I'm a very "clicky" person, so I like it better having more windows open. Plus, at most, I'm at 3 sites at once so I don't have much of a need for tabbed browsing. The one thing I hate about Firefox is that on IE, you could type in whatever the favorite was entered as and it would bring it up. I have this site bookmarked as "FT" (I know, I know), but now I have to click on the bookmark instead of just typing FT into the search bar. Is there a way to avoid that? What am I missing about Firefox that I don't like it that much?

I love Firefox, it's really user friendly, the extensions are useful, but g*ddammit, it is nearly impossible to report a bug. Firefox keeps crashing (the tool bar goes missing) when my pop-up blocker fails- this has happened a a regular basis for the past couple weeks. But to report this, you have to do three intensive steps, including reading over 1000 other posted bugs to make sure you don't replicate anyone else's problems, that it's really turned me off. I realise that they don't have a large soul-sucking corporation behind them, but IE was so much easier with their "email us your problems" vs. "take half a day to replicate, review and report a problem that we might get around to fixing" in Firefox.

My husband is all about Mozilla, and that's about all we use now. And for the first time tonight, I got myself a Photobucket account. But now I'm all paranoid. I hate having to accept cookies, and I have to turn down my security to default for all the Javascript to work. I don't want to crash my computer just because I wanted an avatar like everyone else.

I saw a discussion on Firefox vs IE and thought thread would help out. BTW, Firefox kicks IE's ass. Firefox freezes on my computer if I leave something up overnight and come back in the monring to look at it. EVERY FRIGGING TIME. Which is why I don't use Firefox anymore. It's safer but not worth the aggravation.

It does. Every once in a while a page won't load properly in FF (e.g., my Launchcast radio won't run in FF) or a video won't play so I bop over to IE, but overall, I've been very happy with FF. There is a nice extension that lets you do this in Firefox, I have it installed and it works just fine.
