As okolobaloba said, people can misuse the mail address without ever accessing or changing the account itself.
Another way to check whether you really sent it or not is by looking at the IP-address, this is somewhat trickier when you mail from either a public place or from the office since those don't have a single identifiable IP address as you would when accessing the internet from the home. Still, it doesn't prevent others from possibly abusing the email address.

That reminds me. A few times a week I get tiny, blank e-mails in my Yahoo account, with no subject line and... I forget who it says they're from. I think the sender area is blank. Does anyone know what causes this?
Also, I was trying to check my Yahoo mail yesterday and it said the security certificate didn't match? I stopped it and ran a spyware scan, but should I be concerned about this?

I keep getting "reminders" to pay for "MoviePass TV". I don't know anything about it, and worse I never used the service. How can I get this from popping up?

This same exact thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I wasn't sure if it was an unimportant glitch or something serious.

I'm of no help here, but I do have a Yahoo mail question - if I upgrade to the premium pay service, will that cut back on the chance of my email getting hacked or info stolen, etc.? Because right now, I'm using Yahoo as my everything - all my addresses and phone numbers are stored in there, I use the calendar function for everything going on, etc. Anyone know? I'm totally willing to pay for the any safety features.

Speaking of Y*hoo! email: Is anyone having trouble accessing their email accounts from them this morning? I've tried both at home and at work, and I can't even get to the Mail page. I click on the Mail icon on the home page, and I get the famous "this page is unavailable right now" thing.

I just got my laptop from Toshiba. It was sent back because they had to reinstall Windows. Anyway, I used to be able to play DVDs on my laptop but now when I put in a DVD, I just hear the sound and there is a blank/black picture. Since my warranty just expired, Toshiba wants $35 extra to fix the problem.
Does anyone know how can I fix this problem before I spend the money?

Does anyone know a freeware program that will reduce audio noise? I have tape recordings on a CD and want to reduce the tape noise but it looks like anything that does that comes packaged in a fancy editing program.
