black ballet flats (I don't care if they're "out," they're comfy and I love them). Ballet flats are out?! Nooo! I love those shoes! That cannot possibly be. Well, I am going to keep wearing them anyway. I look gross today because I had to stay in and take heavy meds and do laundry so I figured, what's the point of dressing up? So I just wore ugly brown pants and an old shirt. And then as it turned out I needed to make a quick run uptown. I did not bother to change and felt sooo scuzzy while standing in line. All the other girls looked really chic. Ugh. I can't wait for the hot weather so I can wear my new shorts and my espadrilles!

I didn't know the ballet flats were out, either. Screw that -- they seem like a classic.

One of the upsides/downsides (I can't decide which it is) is that I have to plan out my outfits for the 4-day workweek, right down to accessories, before I pack Sunday night. It's kind of fun.
Today I'm wearing a black jersey dress, with a shirt-like top, but a fullish, below the knee skirt (Jacob) with black round toed mules and an awesome purplish necklace (it's a large flowered shaped pendant with a handpanted flower on it).
Tomorrow I'm planning on wearing light blue cropped dress pants with the same mules and probably a black boat necked sweater (I like to accessorize this with a rhinestone shoe buckle that was my grandmother's - I clip it to the neck of my sweater, just to the side). I'm hoping that it's warmer in the morning than it was today. They've been forcasting warmer weather for the week but it was quite chilly this morning. I have a pair of pants for Thursday, but I want those for the plane.

I've been on a jewelry making kick lately, so today I wore black crop pants, a nice black top (slight sheen to it) with some handmade earrings (iridescent green etched bead with tiny pearls and crystals) and a three strand bracelet made with salt water pearls and several types of crystals (including Swarovski and vintage).
Right now I'm wearing my "hello my name is Shopaholic" pajama pants and a purple pajama top. And my jewelry. Hee, I love the sparkly stuff!

Jeans were made for wearing days in a row. They hide the dirt, grime, and stank so well. That's why they're a staple in hippie-wear.
So today I rocked the all-black look, black fitted V-neck, black pinstriped pants, black shoes, and my brand new Bettie bangs. Damn I looked cute. But now, I'm in Tinkerbell pajama bottoms and a hubby-beater tanktop with my hair in a Britney topknot (except my hair's washed, yo).
ETA: Holy crap! I am now a god! Worship me now!

When I went out to band practice, I wore a grey t-shirt, jeans and my black leather slides. Now, same t-shirt with my pink polka-dot fleece jammie pants and my Duke sweatershirt (16+ years old, and still comfy.)

I have my "work uniform" on. Boxy-style blazer, hubby-beater style shirt (sleeveless, little bit of a U-neck plunging neckline just to break up the uniform look), classic trousers and my Anne Klein pumps. I wear this stuff to work EVERY day, except Fridays when I wear either jeans, khakis or my favorite black fleece pants that I bought on vacation in Jasper, Alberta last year.
And ballet flats? Don't care if they're "out". I've worn them for years, and I don't really care who says they're out. I love 'em. And, they're all over the stores, so I don't know who gets to make the call about that kind of stuff. That person/s has head-up-ass syndrome.

I'm the one who gets to make the call on that stuff, and ballet flats are definitely not out Today I have on a light blue oxford shirt that used to be some boy with the last name Armstrong (it's written inside the collar)'s uniform shirt for school, a golden brown demin pencil skirt that buttons down the front, and golden brown slides. I hate work clothes, but I promise this looks better than it sounds.

I look half decent today with the exception of the sweater I have on, which looks like it belonged to Uncle Charlie on "My Three Sons".
I've got on chocolate brown dress pants with beige pin-stripes, an olive green camisole trimmed with beige lace, and a matching olive green v-neck cardigan (the above mentioned "Uncle Charlie" sweater). And black pointy toed, low heeled boots. What can I tell ya? I need to do laundry tonight or tomorrow, and the sweater was one of the few clean options to wear to work today.
ETA: I don't think ballet flats are out, or ever have been out. Since 1982, every shoe store I've ever stepped into has had them on display - they're a classic!

Light blue pants, long (mid-thigh) camisole top with blue/yellow/green floral pattern and denim jacket with moccasins.
I also have my bangs braided on the side in that - I know, I know - annoying Jessica Simpson/Mandy Moore style. I saw in Allure yesterday that it was back for this summer - it's just so damned cute.
