Some delicious sprouts were delivered in my weekly CSA box so I decided to make my favorite sandwich of everything bagel with cream cheese, thin sliced red onions, and sprouts. I gather all the ingredients, even going out of my way to get the really good bagel then find that my bastard fridge has somehow frozen my sprouts into a crystally little mass. Crunchy sprout sandwich it is.

I hope these sprouts you mention aren't of the mini evil cabbages variety officially known as Brussels sprouts because I'm so sorry but those things are evil and I'm completely weirded out by this combo. Eek! Tho I admire your choice I'm not going near them or anything like em, evil I tells you evil :-)

I think my mix was alfalfa, radish, and sunflower which was fresh & earthy with a tiny bite from the radish. Even frozen they were darn tasty.

sorry about the double post.
It's been sandwich love for me lately but I've been served some odd ones in the last few days.
1) a turk'y, stuffing & cranberry sandwich that was served ice cold. Considering the fillings I was expecting a hot sandwich, or a least one warmed on the sandwich press, but it was 100% cold. The stuffing portion would definitely have benefited from some warmth, it's flavor was dampened by the cold and it was very dense.
2) an egg salad & avocado sandwich that was heated on a panini press. Toasted bread would have been okay, but two things that should never ever be served heated are egg salad and avocado.
I feel like my sandwich makers were aliens masquerading as humans that understand the concept of sandwich but are completely clueless on proper execution.

I took the day off of work today, and ran some errands, did some chores around the house so food's been sort of "haphazard affair";
Breakfast: Breakfast sandwich, smoothie with roasted beets and blueberry, coffee
Lunch: Homemade soup. We're trying to clean out our overstuffed freezer, and so I took a bag of frozen broccoli and cauliflower, and cooked it in veggie broth, with garlic. Then I blended it up until smooth (I went for less liquid).
Dinner: I'm ordering in sushi.

It's currently bursting at the seams and I should just go on soup every day until I've worked my way through all my surplus.

I didn't pack a lunch today and ended up getting a chicken and quinoa protein bowl from Starbucks, and holy smokes, it was good. I'm gonna want one every day now.

I went to a vegan restaurant for lunch with a friend. They do a full special each day, but mainly you can just pick and choose from items. Everything I got was very good, especially the hummus, which was nice and lemony the way I like it. They're only one street over and offer food to go, so I'll probably go back for lunches. A nice break from my usual, which is vegetable soup of some sort. Like kateln, I tend to do various mixes of veggies and then blend them up all up. I'm just about finished with a broccoli spinach soup.
Dinner was a test run for Christmas eve, since the "cheap" grocery store had some frozen shrimp and smoked salmon on special. It was a lot and we meant to split it over two nights, but it was so good we pigged out and ate it all. And then had a slice of panettone for dessert. Piggies!

Fitz (and anyone else): Try thisThis is Sam the Cooking Guy. I have made a ton of his stuff, and he hasn't let me down yet. Also, nearly as entertaining as Graham Kerr back in the day.

If you are what you eat, I'd be a giant panetone right now. I'm thankful they aren't in the stores year round.
