So I live in Scottsdale. On a trip to LA my friend and I ate at a restaurant called Real Food Daily. It was very good. I bought their cookbook to try and recreate what I ate their......Jesus, these recipes are so involved. It might be easier/quicker if I just drove to LA, ate, and drove home.

So today my 8 year old announced he was becoming piscitarian too, like his 12 year old brother. I shoud eat less meat too, so ... yay?
I'm not sure he will stick to it though, it seems to be based more on a dislike of beef than anything else, so we shall see.

I've fallen off of and been run over by the vegetarian bandwagon. But now I'm trying to climb back on it. I found a fantastic vegan restaurant near my office, and just trying to get back in the saddle.

I have some tofu and the use-by date is today. Is it okay if I still use it tomorrow? I am embarassed to ask such a question, but I have a bit of a sensitive stomach and I just want to be sure. Thank you.

As long as you're cooking it, it should be perfectly fine. We just recently made some delicious pad thai with tofu that was a week past its expiration. /wearegross.

I had some very embarassing consequences from eating bad yoghurt once (I swear I couldn't tell as I ate it!) and ever since then, I am a bit paranoid about food being out-of-date!

Also, was it shelf-stable or was it refrigerated? If it's the former, you'd probably have even more time past the expiration date. If it's the latter, a few days should be fine. But definitely cook it

My experience with tofu is that, when it goes bad, it goes bad and you can usually tell simply by smelling it. If it smells sour, throw it out, otherwise it's okay to use.

I made a vegan ice-cream cake today for a barbeque we're having tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out - so far, it looks pretty good.
