Well this whole season has been ridiculous so it makes sense that they pick the most ridiculous model as the winner.
ALT can be pretty dishy in his Vogue column. I hope he talks about his experience on the show now that he is off it.

Gawd. That was such a joke. The comments on the Cover Girl photos were also ridiculous. Was it Allison's best photo? No. But you can see her eyes and she's selling eye shadow. Lisa's photo is one eye that barely shows the shadow at all. Ridiculous. Don't even get me started on that idiotic "runway" show.

That runway show was a piece of work. The swimming alone was kind of awesome in its absurdity.

Rumor has it that Cover Girl didn't want Allison. I can't think why - she is hardly the most controversial contestant, and certainly not the only awkward one. But it may explain the bullshit surrounding the photos and their decisions.
Because...dude. They suddenly start to bitch that she isn't personable, yet she won the Extra challenge and the press conference challenge. All the photographers and guests (with the exception of Tyson) loved her. The lady from Express liked her. But instead they go with the loud piece of jerky.
I'm not really disappointed that she didn't win because I think she's better off not tired down by the show, but it highlights what BS the whole process is. I'm positive they crowned Angelea because Tyra wants a Cinderella story. But she effed it up, so they hit the editing room so in the final episode Lisa can be featured talking about all the abuse she suffered when we hadn't heard a peep about that this season up until now.
I want to check out another country's NTM, since I understand they are based in reality, and not in Tyra's fantasy world.

Allegedly, Tyson's tweets strongly indicated that Angelea won - which would be ridiculous if his blabbing factored into her elimination. Though the best crazy theory I've heard is that since she was "feeling off" after the final runway and that her dress needed to be let out, is that she's preggers. What if it's Tyson's?! OMG!
I guess we get the trainwreck we deserve for continuing to watch this. It's been years since it's been tolerable and not absolutely insane. One would think that the addition of ALT and Vogue Italia would've made it better.

Kostgard, watch Australia's version. They've had a few mess-ups along the way, but they've also had some really strong, valid results. The last season which ended fairly recently had a final three that was really good.

A single to be released? No. Just no. Not everyone is a singer and it's ridiculous that they're going this route. How many models are actually singers? They need to change the name of this show and call it America's Next Top Presenter, or more realistically, America's Next Top Famewhore. Because really, there's no modeling in this anymore.

I've been watching a S1 marathon on the STYLE channel and forgot how much fun Adrienne and Elise were together. I still laugh at the Ebony vs. Robin pray-off (Robin singing "Excellence" while Ebony looked straight into the camera and rolled her eyes.) Lots of good Janice Dickinson's one liners. It's kind of fun to go back and watch the first seasons of these reality shows when they were raw and the participants less self-conscious. One thing I noticed with the competitive shows is that they frequently have both the best and worst contestants (Elise really had the goods to be a top model but none of the others would've gotten past the front door of most agencies)

I watched some of the S1 marathon today too. Tyra was so calm and helpful, not the manic, over-the-top crazy person she is now. I also really miss the challenges at judges' panels. The show was so rough in the first two seasons - the judges were practically sitting in each others laps at judging because the table wasn't big enough, they filmed with the Barbara Walters soft focus lens and they used Tyra's clothes for some shoots. Watching this reminded why I used to love this show!
