I've been watching and re-watching the Parrot Sketch and the Upper Class Twit sketch. Discuss all things Python.

Devoted fan here. I had pink flamingos in my lawn named Pepperpot and Gumby. One of my very favorite scenes was the killer rabbit in The Holy Grail. I almost pee my pants laughing EVERY time I see that rabbit jump out and latch onto Graham Chapman's neck. Monty Python and the Beatles: the two reasons why I will always love England. ;D

Someone on the aborted thread on "Celebrities" asked which Python had a drinking problem. It was the now-departed Graham Chapman.

Chapman, IIRC, quit drinking in 1977 and afterwards never touched liquor again. From everything I've read, he was the most interesting of the Pythons. He attended medical school before deciding to pursue acting instead and was also an extreme sports enthusiast.
He was also one of the very few openly gay celebrities during the late 60s/early 70s. He and his partner, David Sherlock, were together for over 20 years. How many hetero couples can make that claim?

He did a lecture at my college and I just about split my side from laughing.

For all that I love Python for their wit, two of my favorite scenes are still sight gags. The first is The Ministry of Silly Walks (still laugh-out-loud hilarious after 35 years) and the Queen Victoria Classic ("First is Queen Victoria, followed by Queen Victoria and Queen Victoria!")
Eric Idle's Greedy Bastard Diary is well worth a read.

Ministry of Silly Walks still cracks us up...nothing beats John Cleese and those ridiculous legs of his!
Our other favourites: Dead Parrot, Cheese Shop, Argument Clinic, Upperclass Twit of the Year Competition, Lumberjack Song, Spam, Hungarian Phrase Book ("My hovercraft is full of eels!") and the Spanish Inquisition.

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
I have found my people! Honestly, if you can beg/borrow/steal tickets to Spamalot!, you should. It's one of the few instances where the audience in the theatre can sing along and recite the dialog and no one cares!

I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition. ;D ;D ;D "Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope...and nice red uniforms. Oh damn!"
