Yup, the show returns this month in the UK and next month on your favorite Canadian station! So, do we have some Whovians here? Show yourselfs and dig out your long scarves with pride!

I am not a hard-core fan but my fiance Mr. Jenner is. He is all about the Who. But he is English. I think you are required to like that show there.
One time (slightly off-subject) I was at the state fair and there was this exhibition hall devoted to people who collect things. There was one person who collected nothing but Betty Boop memorabilia, Another person who collected French Porcelain dolls and someone who had Mardi Gras things. You get the idea. (people with too much time on their hands... like people on this forum) Anyways... There was a person who had this giant -and I mean GIANT collection of Dr. Who stuff. It was as if they robbed several people of their things and went through the studio where Dr. Who was filmed and took everything. It was just a little creepy.

Odd you should say that, the Doctor Who Exhibit that recently moved back to Blackpool had issues with people stealing stuff off of the props to such an extent that you weren't even allowed to take pictures in there. I did, of course, while boring my host by naming off the costumes by memory instead of looking at the signs.
Man, I love England.

I have seen the new episode. It fucking rocked. I loved every second of it. Christopher Eccleston is awesome. And the biggest surprise: Billie Piper can act.
I can't wait for the next episode. The Doctor is back!

I saw half of the new episode and I'm so freaking happy that Davies was able to keep the old flavor of the show and yet make it different. The odd bit of comedy was a bit off but I can see they're going for a slightly Troughtonish flavor with the Doctor's personality this time and I can't help but enjoy it.
I want to see how they deal with an alien world, that'll just prove it'll succeed. But honestly, Eccleston and Piper really impressed the hell out of me.

My boyfriend is waiting for this, and has been doing so since the last one went off the air. There was a two-second teaser on the other day, while he happened to be outside having a smoke, and he threw away the cigarette and ran inside, only to miss it completely. Poor boy.
I am knitting him a Dr Who scarf. He's even going to wear it. We are lame people.
Myself, I've never actually seen any of the episodes, but I love Christopher Eccleston, so I'm quite looking forward to it. And, Fiona3, I'm glad to hear that Billie Piper is good in it - my bf was worried about that.

You think that's sad, Colin Baker is my favorite Doctor. You ever try making that patchwork coat??

A new Dr. Who series? No shit? Break out the jelly babies! I can still remember watching the first episodes in B&W as a kid in New Zealand. The Daleks scared the pants off me. I thought the first Doctor (William Hartnell?) was really good at playing someone who always had his mind on other, more important things. Watching those now, as an adult, I'm convinced he was going up on half his lines and making stuff up. I didn't watch as religiously after Tom Baker regenerated as the guy from All Creatures Grunt And Smell.

Peter Davison wasn't that bad, he was a good Doctor...plus he had to follow Tom Baker so considering that he did a good job.
