That's an interesting notion, about them being the crappy leftovers...I wish that they would consider things like that. There was a little bit of that at the end of Greeks Bearing Gifts where Jack admits he isn't a great boss. That statement, combined with his signature belt-and-suspenders combo, immediately reminded me of Office Space. "Hey Ianto... Could you come in on Sunday and muck out the Pterodactyl roost? Oh, and can you be in my office for our weekly theraputic hot sweaty man-love hurt/comfort session in 10 minutes? That'd be greeeeaaat..." ;D

We did wonder if we should have a separate thread for Torchwood, but it seemed it would be deader than this one. Maybe there are enough people watching to start one? They are separate shows, after all, so it would make sense. I think I will start one, but it will probably be pretty slow-moving. I liked "Fear Her"... but mainly because of all the cute Rose/Doctor bits. I'm easy to please. The little girl was just so scary and unfortunately hard for me to understand. The British accent plus the rasping alien accent made it unintelligible for me. Sometimes we turn on the closed captioning so that we don't miss anything. I wonder when we get Torchwood here in the States? I'm always ready for more SciFi, especially the kind that has hot men.

Okay, not a double post because it's a week later and I just watched the season finale and the end of Rose. I was almost crying, especially when I saw the Doctor crying. I would have been hysterical if I were Rose, never able to see David Tennant again. So now at least I know what Torchwood is and hopefully we'll get the show here soon!

There there, Grumpy Girl, I know how you feel. I cried... a lot at the finale. I think there were actual sobs. (And I swear I don't usually cry at TV.)
I know a lot of people don't like Rose and her relationship with the Doctor (I read a couple of rants about that yesterday), but I don't have any history with Doctor Who, so frankly I don't care about what the Doctor is "supposed" to be like, and how he is "supposed" to act with his companions, and how RTD is ruining the show and living out his fanboy fantasies or whatever... I just love the lurrrve between Rose and the Doctor, because as I've said, I am easy to please. Shallow, yes, but ehh.

I wanted him to love her because he's just so damned sexy, in a nerdy kind of way, and if he loved her, well, then he could love me. See my logic? I didn't watch Dr. Who until the latest iteration, so I don't have an opinion about how the relationship that the companions and the doctor are supposed to have. All I know is that if I were the companion and the Doctor looked like David Tennant, I'd be on him like white on rice.

I agree completely. If you have some time to kill, you should watch this. He is delightful in it, and they mention his nickname, David Ten-inch. Make sure to click on the photos of him further down the page, as his costume is... something. I have the sexing song from Blackpool (mmm, Scottish Tennant) stuck in my head. Darn it.

I can't get over how slim he is. Mmmmm. Look at his hips! I love that (well, I love either nerdy skinny or nerdy pudgy). He's a bit on the tall side for me, though. And by "a bit" I mean about half a foot.
Hee! Yes. They comment on the outfit during the panto.

I'm a mess. Finished watching the finale for Season 2. I understand the tears about the Doctor & Rose separating forever. I think I would be a mess to be separated from the Doctor.
Trying to remind myself that it is a TV show and not to cry over the story. Still doesn't help. Am pathetic, am a loser, am going to go blow my nose.
So, will America get Torchwood? I do miss Jack just a wee bit....

If you want to cry some more, there are some terribly sad fanvids on YouTube. Not that I would know anything about shameless fangirl pursuits... I have watched that ending so many times that it doesn't upset me anymore. That sucks. I liked being sad about it. However, the "How long are you going to stay with me?" "Forever" bit is still heartbreaking, as is something else I got teary about the other day, but I can't remember what it was. Darn it. Crap! What was it? Probably a fanvid... Sigh. I am tentatively looking forward to the Christmas special on Monday. It doesn't appear to be airing in Canada, but I am not going to let that stop me. Even if it were, my mother has a "no TV on Christmas" rule. Pff. Technically it also extends to computers, but... oh well. I think the lack of Rose will be sad, though. OH! That's what made me tear up -- the trailer for the Christmas special, when the Doctor says " I am not about to lose someone else." *sob* And the last word of the special is apparently " Rose. " *double sob*
