I liked Eccleston, but I think DT just nails the quirkiness of the Doctor so much better. And hotdamn! that man has charisma.

I really didn't think that he did until I watched an episode and saw him interact with Rose. I don't mind Rose, but I didn't watch the old Doctor Who, so I can't compare her to other companions. Does the Doctor ever get romantically involved with the companions?

He has a whole lot of It. I recommend watching his Casanova mini-series.
I don't think he ever does get involved with his companions - but traditionally, in the UK, it's very much a family show. It's on at 7pm, and people watch it with their kids. So whatever happens in the back room of the Tardis, they're not going to spell it out.
I am nervous about the new companion, because I am pretty attached to Rose; but given how entirely dubious I was about Billie Piper in the first place, I'm willing to hope that Russell T. Davis knows what he's doing and that she'll be fine. I just want there to be an appropriate amount of recovery time for the Doctor after the loss of Rose.
The Runaway Bride is played by Catherine Tate, who's a pretty famous comedienne over here with her own show.

There is a recent spoiler that <<the Doctor and Martha are in bed fully clothed and flirting, but they're interrupted by a monster or something.>> I may be getting a detail or two wrong (like the flirting could be entirely on her side... I think I heard that). However, I expect that will end up being like the kiss in "New Earth" -- it looks scandalous out of context, but she's possessed by something else when they kiss.

I recommend watching Blackpool. David Tennant + Scottish accent + oral fixation = mmmmmm.
Dr Who certainly is a family show, very much unlike Torchwood! Where every character seems to have snogged every other character, gender irrelevant. I love it ;D.

It's like the guy who plays the captain, have you seen him speak in his native Scottish accent? Resistance is futile.

The only thing better than David Tennant speaking with a Scottish accent is David Tennant attempting to speak with a U.S. accent (I think it was supposed to be a southern one) on one of the audiobooks he does. Oh my goodness. It was hilarious but... not too sexy. He got the A's right-ish, but the rest sounded slightly Scottish. Hee.

I think that I'd rather see him, too, so an audiobook would be lost on me.

Has anyone else seen last night's Torchwood? With Eugene Jones in it? Someone see it, please please please. Because...seriously, what was all that about? And why was it structured like that Doctor Who episode with the guy who was in the weird little alien club, only less interesting, and why did it just go nowhere?
Mr E and I thought they were starting to hint at a story arc in the last episode, where Susie came back, with all the talk about something moving in the dark, and that they might be on their way to explaining Jack's history, but this just threw all of that out, and I don't get it. You need an arc, people! You need a Big Bad, or at least a Big Dubious, and some kind of freaking STORY ARC.
Not to mention, I can't tell if they've dropped Gwen/Owen like a hot potato or they're just downplaying it or what. Rhys has pretty much vanished, no one's mentioned Tosh's little catastrophe with the mind-reading, or Ianto's dead cyber-girlfriend. I feel like I've missed an episode in which LOTS OF THINGS happened, and now nothing makes sense. Except that I haven't missed an episode, and nothing makes sense.
For God's sake, Russell, pull it together, you only have a few more episodes!

Yeah, I know. I agree with you completely. I like Torchwood in general and don't have any real desire to pick it apart, but... Why were we supposed to care about Eugene? The least they could have done is shown us his approaching them in previous episodes. I don't like "Love and Monsters" (soooo boring), and I didn't really like this one.
I agree as well that they need to start explaining about Jack. It's been nine episodes!
Yeah, I know. He seems to get it on with a woman in the previews, so... I don't know. Their relationship (such as it was) seemed to have disintegrated (I'd say Gwen came to her senses, but personally I wouldn't think that would involve choosing Rhys over Owen), but it would have been nice to have seen something about it. Sigh.
