The verdict may have had a lot to do with the fact that the victim was so umsympathetic. I think he got away with murder -- which seems to be the norm in Cali.

Thank you Catty. I had followed this story closely years ago when it first happened. But got really bored with it. But I remembered thinking at the time that Christian Brando needed to be looked at more closely. I'll look over the info.

I don't know if Blake is guilty or not, but the prosecution did not have a solid case to get a guilty verdict just like another current high profile case.

Thank you Catty. I had followed this story closely years ago when it first happened. But got really bored with it. But I remembered thinking at the time that Christian Brando needed to be looked at more closely. I'll look over the info. You're welcome. The bakleymurder.com site is down now but I imagine it will be back up soon. It's a good resource. I just got totally engrossed in this trial last December and it's been a hobby for the past 3 months. I've been in touch with a few law students who have attended the trial and we've discussed it now for months. It's quite an interesting case with a lot of very colorful sideshow types. It wasn't as high profile as other cases because Blake and Bonny were older and not very attractive people, and Blake was a B celebrity. But once I scratched below the surface I got completely engrossed. It's been a fascinating case on many levels.

Brilliant, Cattywampus. You caused me reasonable doubt in a few paragraphs. I had felt certain he was guilty.
I feel terrible for his daughter, your mother being murdered in your infancy does not bode well.

Thanks Catty for all the insight. I am glad to hear that as someone who followed the case closely, you think the verdict was correct.
I didn't think he would get convicted due to the two characters that claim he solicited them to kill her. They seemed not trustworthy and everything else was circumstantial. Sometimes circumstantial evidence can get you convicted, but I didn't think there was enough to convict him.

Bawa Wawa was interviewing him on GMA this morning and he was rambling on and on about his aquittal.
I was up getting ready for work but I actually started nodding off while watching the interview. He'd start talking about his daughter and all of a sudden flip the script and start rambling about some other BS.

I feel terrible for his daughter, your mother being murdered in your infancy does not bode well. RB signed over his rights to his adult daughter and her husband. By all accounts she's got a healthy happy normal life, with a mom and dad. RB says his role is more of "grandpa" So perhaps she'll grow up alright if the press will just leave her alone.

I saw a bit of the GMA interview. He seems kind of crazy with the way he rambles.
