So we're on the last full season (damn you, HBO!) and so much is unresolved. Will Bullock and Alma get together again? Who will come out on top of the Swearengen/Tolliver/Hearst mess? Does Jane put the bottle down? What about Sol and Trixie? Here's the place to discuss my current favorite show.
As long as every episode contains Timothy Olyphant, I'll be a happy camper. Although I have to say that I've developed a bit of a crush on Ian McShane, which, given the character he plays, is a little disturbing. It's the eyes, man, the eyes!

They did it to me with Carnivale and they're doing it to me again with Deadwood. Why do they hook me and then cancel these shows...why ? Cocksuckers!

I started off hating Deadwood: too much swearing, too much Swearengen, too much dirt. And, then, I fell in love (see: my avatar). But seriously, the writing and details in the story are phenomenal. I don't know how many of you have seen the Season 1 DVD extras but, wow, I did not know so much of the story was real. Obviously, Deadwood has a long complex history, Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hiccock were real people as was Seth Bullock. But I had no idea that the Gem Star Saloon was real as was Al. So interesting. And so tortured - Seth and Alma! Aaaahhh!
Now my girlfriends and I have a new greeting:
San Francisco cocksucker!!

Man, I love this show. This is supposed to be the last season? Grrr.
I love Trixie & Sol and Alma & Seth. The chemistry between both those couples is amazing. And Swearengen is just so great.

Ok, I need confirmation. Did the black guy just commit suicide? And I thought the Ellsworths had consummated their relationship at some point, but now I'm completely confused.

To your first question, yes, to your second, no, it was really a "marriage" so Alma wouldn't have to be an unwed mother.

Thanks neurochick. I looked away for two seconds and missed a key scene!

So I know there must be some significance to Trixie's pre-shooting behavior last night. Is it a Wild West thing? A mark of a woman who means business? Regardless, I thought she was pretty bad ass.

I was so upset with Ellsworth's death, that I couldn't even understand what Trixie was about to do to Hearst, and then it made some sense, she was totally distracting them from the fact that she had the gun out in plain site. I mean Hearst fell for it, although she showed him a little more than just her boobies.
Bullock is always so swoon worthy, I mean if he was gripping my shoulder like he was Alma's I might have fainted.

I agree with you, orangeslice. But the fact that she ripped open her blouse and stormed through the street that way made me think it was symbolic.
I'm so over Hearst that I even found myself cheering on Farnum for wiping away dried spittle. I mean, cheering through the nausea, I mean.
