Anybody watch the finale? I laughed when Creed was giving his emotional speech at the end, as he's being arrested. There was too big a turnaround for Angela. I get that she's happy for a change, but I still would have liked to see prickly, judgmental Angela being happy. She suddenly became too touchy-feely. I did like Dwight calling Pam his "best friend." I liked Stanley showing some love for Phyllis (but where was Bob Vance?) Steve Carrell has aged. A lot. Jim and Pam moving to Austin was too much of a leap. I would have gone for Pam surprising Jim with brochures for a house in Philly (with a terrace). They showed Bob Vance hugging Phyllis during the vow exchange. Angela had a couple of snippy moments but she seemed to realize she was being a jerk and apologized for it. My favorite moment was Phyllis promising to get Angela down the aisle and then carrying her. It made me tear up. Glad that Steve only had a minor role in the finale as he tends to overshadow the rest of the cast. I loved the finale but hated the retrospective. I would have preferred to see outtakes or have the clips highlight more of the supporting cast. I think the way Friends and Seinfeld did their clip shows was so much better.

I'm glad they didn't mention or show any clips of Robert California. That was really the low point of the show. Most of the clips they showed were from the 1st-4th seasons. That whole season was awful, but I thought a real low was Will Ferrell as DeAngelo Vickers. That was unwatachable. Mindy Kaling talked about having directed one of those episodes, which makes me hope she doesn't direct again. One of the worst episodes ever was this season's "The Farm." It was shot as a pilot for a potential Dwight spinoff that wasn't picked up - because it was awful! Instead of scrapping it like they should have (and making it a DVD extra or something) they just added some scenes with the regular cast and turned it into an Office episode. I know NBC probably forced the producers to do that to save money, but that was a really, really bad thing to do.

I'm ashamed to confess I am a snob who didn't watch this show after the pilot because I thought it was so inferior to the British version. But I've seen bits and pieces over the years, so I know the basics of who the characters are.
For those of you who watched the entire run, which season was your favorite? I may have to start Netflixing.

I may have to start Netflixing. Seasons 1 and 2 are the best seasons of the show, so you may as well watch in order. If you'd hung on after the pilot you would have seen some of the best episodes of the whole series: "Diversity Day" (ep 2) and "Health Care" (ep 3). But if you are only willing to give one episode a shot, watch "The Injury" from Season 2. That's the one that got me hooked (after I'd seen snippets of some poignant Jim/Pam moments from other episodes and thought it was boring and overrated.)

My all-time favorite ep is when Michael and Jan throw a dinner party. To this day, it is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen.

The first five minutes of the fire drill episode (called "fire drill" I think) are the my favorite from what I've seen of this show. Dwight fakes a fire and locks everyone in the office and they all just panic and run amok. Angela opens a desk drawer containing a cat, they try to throw the fax machine through a window...I watch that bit whenever they re-run it.

Gay Witch Hunt which is the season 4 premiere is the funniest episode of the series for me. I actually like seasons 3 and 4 best out of the entire series.

Is that the one where Oscar throws the cat into the ceiling and it falls out another ceiling tile? Tears of laughter.

Yes! The bit with the cat is part of the WTF hilarity, and it helps that the cat that falls out of the ceiling is clearly not a real cat. I love that sequence, tears of laughter is right!
