Since we've got the Most Romantic/Saddest Moments threads started, I thought we needed to bring Disturbing back to life, too.
I've seen some messed up shit on t.v. in my day, probably enough to keep me in therapy for the rest of my life. Among said shit--that disgusting scene in the X-Files episode "Dead/Alive," when the Billy Miles character showers off his own skin while transforming into his newly-matured alien form. Because ew. Just ew. Messed up for weeks, people. Share your trauma?

Forever, it's the scene in Twin Peaks where Leland-as-BOB kills Maddie. He keeps smashing her face into the mirror and it won't. stop. In fact, a lot of Twin Peaks was really disturbing. Seeing BOB for the first time really messed me up.

When they flashed Michael Jacksons Mug shot across the TV screens when he was arrested the first time. Very disturbing.

Speaking of X-Files, I had never really understood the uproar about the classic episode "Home," with the incest and the baby-killing and all that. I think it's because when I first saw it, I was about 14 years old and was waaaaaay too focused on the Mulder/Scully ship, so I didn't really pay attention. I recently purchased the DVDs, though, and sat at home in the dark one day watching that episode...and may I say, it seriously gave me the heebie-jeebies. Now that I'm older and somewhat wiser, I really understood everything. I was freaked out for the rest of the day.

When Xander gets his eye gouged out in the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ew! So gross and so sad.
In the last episode of M*A*S*H*, when we find out that the squawking chicken that had to be killed to save the bus load of people was actually a crying baby. Oh, God. Poor, scarred Hawkeye. I need a moment...

The entire first season ER episode, "Mother's Day," directed by Quentin Tarantino, was entirely disturbing from start to finish. Messy childbirth scene (really not my favorite thing), Susan Lewis's psycho family, gross O.D. patient drama, complete with excessive vomit, and the most graphic surgery ever shown on that series, IMHO. Yuck. When that comes on in reruns, I change the channel.

What scares the shit out of me? The infamous naked Sherman Helmsley episode of Amen that no longer makes it to syndication. Seriously, he has his clothes torn off in the courtroom and somehow makes it through wearing only his hat and a briefcase preventing America from going blind.
Gah!

On the subject of ugly naked people, while many of the most disturbing things I've seen on t.v. have been from the world of 24, the episode during the second "day" when Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer was being tortured by those evil oil billionaires' henchmen? So gross. Who would have thought that Sutherland should always wear clothing? And I didn't need to see him puke. At all. ::shudders::

How's Annie, aybee? How's Annie? How's Annie? HOW'S ANNIE?
That freaked me right the hell out.
I always thought the Gentlemen on Buffy were pretty freaky as well. Just the constant grinning and delicate little applause when they get the job done. *shudder*

I am still scarred by Jack cutting off Chase's hand in the s3 season finale. Not even the steamy T/M kiss made up for how disturbing that scene was.
