One of my biggest WTF? shows is finally off the air! How in Hell did Becker last for 6 frickin' seasons, folks? I watched it once to see what happened to my favorite Trill, Terry Farrell, only to find another tired vehicle of a show for Ted Danson. The Hell? And not only that but the show stayed ON! For years! Color me surprised and thoroughly confused.
So while on your way out the door, Becker, please take the craptastic The Apprentice with you. In fact, most of the those Suvivoresque shows can go the way of the nearest flushing apparatus.

Sadly, it has survived. But I'm right there with you; could've sworn it had been cancelled, then happened to notice a promo for it last week and had a "why is that piece o' crap still on?" moment. Amen on the mystery that is Becker's long run. Six years? Does anyone know anyone who ever watched that show? Also, I'm of the opinion that about 80% of those "Must See TV" filler shows on NBC in the last decade outstayed their welcome after their pilot episodes. I hope that the advent of DVRs will force network programmers to stop foisting substandard crap on us in between hit shows on the theory that people are too lazy to change the channel. These days they're not only changing the channel, they're removing the crap from their favorites list and never seeing it at all.

I have never understood Everybody Loves Raymond. Patricia Heaton's screeching sets my nerve endings on fire. And the fact that not only is she on my TV all the freaking time now as the spokesperson for Albertsons, she seems to show up all too often in Mr. S' alumni magazines spouting off something stupid.
Ray's whining doesn't help matters either.
Leah Remini and her "Brooklyn Schtick" need to drown themselves in the Hudson River. Now.

Add That 70's Show to the list. This tired sit-com should have been shut down a couple of years ago, but no! Not only did they not shut it down when it got completely unfunny, they're going to continue it -- without Topher Grace. You know, the guy who the show was written to revolve around. Yeah, that makes sense.
And word to The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Still Standing and Yes, Dear. Three wastes of television airtime for sure.

Word, and word (I'm a 'Merkin too!)... those're the type of shows that're on when I go to visit Mom and Gramma, and, when I ask why on earth they waste time with that drivel, they tell me not to be so critical all the time. "Honey, it's just some mindless entertainment, don't be so critical." In fact, I think it was Yes Dear that provided one of the most repulsive things I've seen on tv: the B plot was the wacky hijinx that ensue when a couple tries to spice up their sex life, and they dress in differenct costumes, and one scenario was the guy in military garb and the woman in a burqa saying in a heavy accent "How can I thank you for liberating me, American Soldier?" And at that I turned to Mom and Gram and Aunt Lois and said "BULLSHIT!" and insisted they change the channel.
Unbelievable. This aired right at the end of 2001/beginning of 2002, too.

Not surprising since it's an Aaron Spelling creation; a lot of his shows seem to go on a lot longer than they should. And sadly, it's going to be on next season (#10).
I heard that the episodes that we are seeing now are burned-off episodes and that it will truly be gone after all 13 are aired.
And for those that want ER to get the hell off the airwaves, I read last week that it was been renewed for the 2007-2008 season, so it's still going to be on for a while.

I don't understand how I'm still living in a world with According to Jim. It's pretty obvious that ABC hates everyone and keeps it on in the hopes we off ourselves. Shows like Arrested Development might get canceled but AJ is still safely around? How?

Yeah, well....Malcolm irritates the hell out of me.
As for The Simpsons, the sad thing is that even though it's making an ersatz comeback it's been played out. We all know they want to make the big Season 20 but it's getting to the point where I don't care much for the reruns anymore. It may be the first big hit show in existence that when it leaves it may never be watched again.
Wings Syndrome: it got stuck between two good shows (well, shows CBS didn't want to cancel) and got the residual love ratings-wise. It's quite a thing to see that Danson got screwed when Cheers left the air: he could have stayed on that for another two to three years and not had to work anymore but after his movie career wasn't, he was stuck in a no-name sitcom and now is pretty much dead on arrival career-wise. Hell, George Wendt I have more respect for, at least he does a few things but doesn't even try to get back to what Cheers did for him...unless he's starring in porn. I have no idea, I'm not going to check IMDB, I've scared myself.
She's going to be the Tim Allen for every female Tv stereotype: the screeching pseudo-hip harridan in belly-shirts who loves her family after she gets done completely emasculating them because they're all stupider than her self-important ass. She can't get off the TV fast enough...seriously, I hold no ill will towards Peter Boyle or Brad Garrett, why are they in this shit?
Yeah, but I bet good money it won't be staying on Thursday Nights when the Next Big Thing comes along. Look at Drew Carey's show: big one time, then disappears only to become filler during the summer months when nobody is watching.

I don't understand why According to Jim AND that My Wive and Kids dreck is still on the air. But by all means, ABC, don't let Life with Bonnie, which was leaps and bounds better than the rest of ABC's Friday line-up, doesn't make it. EW ran a story towards the end of last year saying that According to Jim was actually up 1.5 million viewers. I screamed in horror at that one.

Noooooooooo! I really, really hate this series now. It owns this thread.
Yeah, I'll believe that it might get ignored in reruns. I definitely don't need to watch it ever again. And I had no idea the agenda included getting to Season 20, like Gunsmoke (and L&O). That's sad.
