I'm sure most posters can think of at least one: a series that has remained on the air, even popular, so much longer than you ever thought it could survive and needs to die for the good of humankind. My personal vote goes to The Real World. I just think the ditzy kids-in-a-fabulous-city schtick has run its course. Actually, I've been thinking this since the London season. By the time we reached Miami, I was done. I tune in occasionally to see how awful it has become, and am never disappointed.

Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens
Are 'Merkins *really* stupid enough to find this crap entertaining? Really?

*sigh* Not all of us are. Add the pointless Yes, Dear to that list. I'm still trying to find out how this dreck ever got greenlighted, much less how it's still on the air.
CSI:Miami David Caruso singlehandedly ruined this show for me with his unbearable performance as Horatio Caine, a character whose immense suckitude by all rights should've collapsed the show into some kind of black hole of unwatchable spinoffs long before this.
Why, why, whyyyyy is The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise still twitching? Will some kind TV executive (oxymoron?) put it out of its misery already? Ditto the unwatchable wreckage of Trading Spaces.
Totally agree that Real World has outlasted its welcome by the better part of a decade. The last one I actually enjoyed was San Francisco...they were already pissing me off with the increasingly bad premises and suspect casting by Miami. Time to say good night.

Eh, King of Queens isn't that bad when you have to deal with Still Standing. Good God, does that show grate! It's like King of Queens meets the Sopranos dumbed down for a TV-PG audience. Certainly, it's the Olive Garden equal to anything that has ever had actual real and non-stereotypical Italians in it EVER. At least Leah Rimini is interrupted by the presence of Jerry Stiller. They're like two annoying spheres that cancel each other out.
And I'm sorry, there is no reason Malcolm in the Middle should be on the air. In fact, how long has it been on? I still can't understand why anybody would watch it as it's the televised equal of getting a protological exam by a double amputee who chooses to use rusty hooks from 1943.

Malcolm in the Middle is pretty bad, MonsterZero (although your comparison is making me cringe even more than Malcolm's voice). I'm of the opinion that another long-running comedy on Fox which needs to die is The Simpsons. I quit watching regularly around 1999, after the beyond-random nature of the series went well, beyond beyond. Every time I tune in, it's just so hard to find anything even remotely enjoyable about it.

JAG needs to go. The main character left the show which is probably a good thing. 7th Heaven should have been axed a couple of seasons ago. Aren't the children all growns up and having families of their own?

Oh, hell yes on the need for 7th Heaven especially to die (though JAG is also way past its expiration date). Goddamn those shows are terrible.

Charmed, though it grieves me to say it, should probably just give it the fuck up already. I'm torn - on the one hand, despite the increasing crappiness, I still watch it religiously. It's been my magical mainstay since Buffy and Angel passed away. On the other, I've been watching earlier episodes and, yeah, it really has gotten worse. A lot worse. There's still potential, but only if I got to run it. And since that won't happen, they really really need to kill it now. Even though I don't want them to.

I thought Yes, Dear was cancelled? That shows how much I pay attention.
I like Still Standing for one reason - Tyler Bell looks like a young Sean Astin, and Sean Astin was my absolute fav teen crush back in the day. Yes, I know he's not even old enough to vote, but I still find him cute.
I actually can't believe Survivor is still on. The contestants know the show (for the most part) and are starting to make decisions based on past seasons, which may seem smart, but makes for bad entertainment. Even though I know they won't, they should just cut it loose. (Although, this season is the best one in awhile - maybe they should concentrate more of the tribal relations than the challenges in the editing room, since people's true colors are for more fun to watch than doing a puzzle or chasing after pigs.)

I literally said the name of this thread when I caught the beginning of ER after The Apprentice. Do people still watch it?
