I think Jensen Ackles of Supernatural is a terrible actor who has two facial expressions and gives the same performance in everything I've seen him in. I think that Dean Winchester is a terrible character and I wish they'd killed him off in S1 and had Sam and Daddy Winchester as the lead roles. I think he's exactly as good of an actor as he needs to be to play Dean Winchester- but I've never seen the AMAZBALLS talent that the Dean!Nuts are always attributing to him. To hear them talk, he's being held back on SPN and should by all rights be winning Emmys and Oscars and getting all the best roles Hollywood has to offer. I've never seen it. Even at the absolute best of Dean Winchester, all I've ever seen is 'Damn good for a CW show'. And that ain't saying much. That's like saying someone is a pretty good kazoo player. Um yeah, but not really much of an accomplishment.

JA is an insanely pretty man who seems to be getting better with age. Like Mark Harmon.

If you guys ever decide to go to a SPN event and speak these truths, please invite me. I'd promptly be pursued by a mob of crazed fans wielding pitchforks and torches. Doubly so if I gave my candid opinion about Misha.

I think both Jensen and Jared have become lazy over the 11 years of the show. I suppose that will happen after playing the same characters for so long. They may grow as actors when Supernatural ends and they are challenged with new characters and new acting partners that will push them out of their comfort zones.

Eh, I predict Jensen will do the Hallmark/Lifetime circuit for a few years and Jared will play Henchman #3 in a comic book movie - not too much potential for growth there.

Might I suggest a nighttime soap?

My UO is this: I hate Mr. Robot. Mr. Ladybug started watching this on Amazon Prime and loves it. He works in a tech job similar to the security firm the main character works for. But I find it tedious, boring, and totally can't get into it. And I hate watching people using hard drugs in movies and shows. Totally grosses me out. So I am not a fan of this show, despite the acclaim.

So I am not a fan of this show, despite the acclaim. I'm with you. I tried to watch it when it started, but I just couldn't get into it and can't really figure out why, because it has all the elements I usually like. Something about his monotone voice, the sets usually being dark and I can't quite put my finger on it all but it makes my head feel like I'm drunk and everything is filtered. It makes me genuinely uncomfortable.

I feel the same about Mr. Robot. I liked some elements, but once they started going into his drug addiction I was all, "Meh" and checked out. I may watch all of season one on Amazon to see if I want to buy back in, but I've been dragging my feet on doing it, so obviously I'm not that enthusiastic about it.
I don't know if this is unpopular, but I tried watching the pilot for I Love Dick on Amazon because it was created by Jill Soloway and I enjoy Transparent, but I think I discovered that Transparent gives me my fill of well-off, selfish people with no real problems who go around creating some for themselves. The show involves an independent filmmaker who follows her writer husband to some retreat in a small town in Texas run by Kevin Bacon (the titular Dick) and she basically becomes obsessed with Kevin Bacon the moment she claps eyes on him. But she opens the show wailing about her film being pulled from the Venice Film Festival because she didn't have the rights for one of the songs she used in it. Instead of being all, "Maybe I should have paid for the rights to use it" she goes on and on about how dare that band do that to her! They are a bunch of nobodies and her movie would have made their song a hit and boosted their career. All while her husband is all, "Totally." I just...can't care about these people. Maybe the whole point of the show will be that she will somehow suck less through her obsession with Kevin Bacon, but...I don't know. Just, nope. Can't do it.
The only scene I liked was when she was telling Kevin Bacon about the terrible thing that happened to her film, and he was all, "Sooooo, you didn't pay for the music, right?" And when she trots out her justification, he comes back with "You mean, how dare an artist ask someone to pay to use their work? Their work you were planning to use in your own work to make it better? Gee, how terrible of them." Seriously. I'm sure there will be growth/character arc/whatever, but the pilot just made me think that the protagonist and her husband were the worst and I didn't want to come back and see what else happens to them. The Pfeffermans of Transparent are also kinda the worst, but there is also something redeeming and appealing about them, so I will watch what happens to them. I didn't care at all about the people in I Love Dick.
